NEW Batgirl & Batman Symbol WALLPAPERS!

I was feeling kinda lazy this morning plus I gotta go help my Mom move out of her apartment, whoopee! ( Sounds like alotta fun huh?! ). So I don't have much time to write so I though I would give the 'ole BAT-BLOG Readers 2, yes you heard right, TWO WALLPAPERS to decorate their PC desktops! The 1st image is graphics from a new fan-made T-Shirt done to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 1966 TV Show. I just got one of these shirts & they are very high quality & very well done. This image up above of BAT-FAN is on the back & it's really large, plus the graphics are sharp. On the front they put a replica of the bat-logo that Adam West had on his TV uniform....sort of a yellow-black circle-oval, nice! If ya want to get one of these just check out eBay. The 2nd is a very nice pin-up of Batgirl! I like it because she looks kind of "realistic" looking, like a real person wearing a real costume. Enjoy. ( Click The Small Pics For Larger Wallpaper-Sized photos ).

NEW LINK : GOLDEN AGE BATMAN Comic Books Site!

This week I kinda focused on creating NEW Link Buttons. Some would say I went a little crazy with it, ha ha! But I like webpages with alot of good content & LINKS is one way of doing it. I hope you check out a few because I've tried to only post the best! One NEW button is called GOLDEN AGE BATMAN & it's a webpage really worth checking out. It features the history of Batman Comic Book Covers. The interface is easy to use & there's a ton of information! Pictured above are 2 very classic covers from the site: Detective Comics # 27 ( May 1939 ), which was the VERY FIRST Appearance of Batman, & then the 1st Issue of Batman. Both of these 2 comics are national treasures for sure! I've included a LINK BUTTON to see it that you can find in "My Links". That is on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of my BLOG near the TOP! Please be sure to BOOKMARK my page before ya go & always remember to check out my archives section for about 100 more postings of information! The archives are located on the right-hand side too, just below the link buttons. ( Click on the Small Pictures Above For Larger Photo ).

Humorous Batman Photo Sent in By BAT-BLOG Reader

Here's a wacky picture sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader named Neal. I like it alot, it's very surreal! If anyone has any photos they would like to share please send them in to BatBlog! Thanx Again Neal.

Steve Rude : Comic Book Artist Painting on eBay!

For those not familuar with STEVE RUDE he's a really great artist & illustrator who's worked on many projects in the comic book industry. My personal favorite was when he drew the RARE comic book adapation of SPACE GHOST. Not the stupid "talk show" version but the original 1960's Classic TV Cartoon. That comic is a real treasure & you should seek it out at your friendly neighborhood comic book shop! He has a very distinct style. Lately he's been selling his artwork on eBay, of all places! Pictured above is a painting he recently sold & I'm sure he's gonna be offering more items soon so be sure to keep an eye out.

A SUPER-RARE 60's Candy Wrapper ( gum? ) & a semi-common 1966 Batman GRAPE DRINK Carton. The last photo is a nice RARE set of Batman Mask Specs made by the Marx Toy Co in 1966. Start drooling now, ha ha!

The Batman : Season 4 Trailer at 2006 Comic Con

Here's a special trailer for the 4th Season of THE BATMAN that is making me get sort of excited about seeing this show. It starts out with just some rough draft pictures but builds up to bring complete animation, neat effect.

Batman Bicycle : BATBLOG's New Ride!

I saw this on the net the other day & for some dumb reason it cracked me up!! This is a brand-new item out, a Batman Bicycle! I'm gonna try to find one of these while I'm out hitting garage sales, hee hee! It looks like it's made for a small child, maybe age 5 or something.....looks kinda cute though, ahhhh! You'll always fins funny picture & a weird sense of humor at BAT-BLOG!

More Vintage 1966 Batman Items to Drool Over!

Here's a few very RARE / very hard-to-find Batman Items from the 60's, enjoy!! The 1st pic is a set of original BATMAN JELLY LABELS from the jelly jars. The 2nd pic is an extremely RARE bath towel! The last photo is shows the front & back of a plastic paddle that originally had a rubber-ball & long rubberband cord ( missing in this photo ) because it was a Paddleball Game.

Holy Cupcakes, Batman! ( Vintage Hostess Ad )

Does anyone else remember these great Hostess Cupcake Ads from the comic books of the 1970's & 80's?? These used to crack me up the way they "tricked you" into reading the ad....they usually had some nice artwork & a funny story but at the end they sales-pitched Hostess Snacks, funny! ( Click the Small Picture for Larger Photo ).

Custom 1940's Style Batmobile Pedal Car!

A while back I was surfing the net & by accident I found a really cool webpage that was all about restoring vintage pedal cars. Now with my toy collection all over the place I have NO room to collect these ( they take alot of space ) but I really love them for their craftsmanship & nostalgic appeal. I prefer the ones that are all original but they had a page that was all about ones that were customized. Well, to my surprise, I found this one ( see above pic ) that somebody made to look just like the version of the 1940's Batmobile! WOW! They never really made these in production or for sale & this was sort of a fantasy "dream concept" one....great idea! I love the style of the car with the "fat fenders" & the Batman HEAD on the front is just like the classic comic books....way cool! Anyways, I hope you other bat-fans find this pic as interesting as I do, check it out.

Fred Hembeck : Cartoonist & Comic Book Artist Tribute

For as long as I can remember I have been a really big fan of both the humor & artwork of Fred Hembeck! Those of you not familuar with his work should check it out. He did alot of work for both Marvel & DC Comics. Usually it was "filler space" & one of his comic strips would appear on a page or two. Sometimes he did a whole page story. He's even done a few comic books on his own & is a highly sought after commercial artist. Plus he's loved by alot of comic geeks ( I mean GEEK in a good way, hee hee ). Once you learn what his art looks like you will always recognize it later. It's sort of simple in a minimal kinda way & very "cartoony" but the accurate details to the character he's drawing is really awesome! If you're familuar with comic book heroes then you recognize that character right away! Recently he's been selling his artwork on eBay, what he calls his "cover recreations". These are full-size pen & ink drawings of classic comic book covers in his "cartoony" style ....they're really great! If I wasn't so poor I would buy one or maybe even commission him to do a piece of art! I love his stuff. He also has a nice webpage worth checkin' out. I've included a LINK BUTTON to his website on the top/right-hand side of my BLOG. While there be sure to read his BLOG called "Fred Sez"....funny!

My Nephews with Batman 1966? ( Photoshopped )

OK, Here's a famous B&W publicity photo of Adam West's Batman with some children in 1966. With photoshop I imposed the faces of my 2 favorite nephews, Jordan & Will! My sister shows this BATBLOG to them every now & then so I wanna surprise them, ha ha!

I am Batman! ( Bat-Blog Readers ?? )

At some point in our lives we have all tied a blue towel around our necks & ran down the street yelling, "I'm Batman!". Admit it, you're guilty, ha ha!

BATMAN NEW TIMES : Lego Toys CGI Movie!

Here's an incredible BATMAN : NEW TIMES Movie made by some students at the School of Digital Animation & Visual Effects. It's really very high-quality & pretty long too! Basically, it's a CGI film done with Lego Toys. Not only are the characters Lego Pieces but all the buildings, vehicles, everything....like you're in a world made from Legos!! Also, they got some movie star talent to supply the voices : Adam West as Batman / Bruce Wayne, Mark Hamill as Joker, Courtney Thorne-Smith as Catwoman / Selina Kyle, & Dick Van Dyke as Commissioner Gordon!!! I've included a LINK BUTTON to see it that you can find in "My Links". That is on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of my BLOG near the TOP!

Batman Wallpaper : JOKER ( Personal Artwork )

This week's Batman-Related image for PC wallpaper is a painting I did a few years ago of the Joker. I got the graphics from a 1966 Batman Game Card. The POP ART style painting was done with acrylic. Also, it was vertical & not horizonal like this wallpaper but I modified it here to fit the screen, enjoy! If you wanna see more Batman Wallpaper then check out the BATBLOG WALLPAPER PAGE Link Button on the top right-hand side of the Bat-Blog! ( As Always, Click The Small Photo for Larger Picture ).

Do you remember this one?!

Check Out STAR TREK VS BATMAN Fan-Movie

HOLY HOLLYWOOD, BATMAN! Here's a link to this new Batman Fan-Made Film titled "STAR TREK VS BATMAN". I wrote about this film in a previous post but just wanted to promote it again ( Remember to check my archives for many more articles & photos ). Check it out, It features "Captain Kirk, Spock, & a few other USS Enterprise members" from the Classic 1960's Star Trek TV Show. It also has 1966 versions of "Batman, Robin, Joker, & Catwoman" too! The soundtrack & sound effects are great. The way it's edited it's just like the TV shows if they were blended together.....very cool! NEW Bat-Products, In Stores Now!

Yesterday I went to a few stores for household supplies & found some NEW Batman Items I couldn't resist! First, is the EXP JOKER Large Action Figure by Mattel. This was on clearance at Target for $3.38! I got the very last one so you might hit your local store quickly. Next is the Reach 2-pack Toothbrush Set & Reach Toothpaste ( Bubblegum Flavor, gross! ). I got these at the Walmart Neighborhood grocery. The toothpaste has been out for awhile but the brushes 2-pack is brand-spankin' new! I really like the JIM LEE comic book artwork in the 2-pack's packaging design! The third item is kinda strange & unusual but I like that! It's a small box of Batman Band-Aids with RED packaging. These are different then most ya see in regular stores, I got these at DOLLAR TREE for $1.00 each! If you would like more news on NEW Batman Items then be sure to check my archives for more info. If you know of brand-new items that have just hit the stores please let me know. Also, remember to bookmark my page for more future news. Happy Collecting!

A MESSAGE TO KIDS FROM BATMAN ( Video )

RARE 1966 Batman Toys, Magazines, & Jewelry!

Every now & then I do a posting of just some photos of very very RARE Batman Toys for my readers to drool over, hee hee! I think these are nice to see because you really don't see them that often, even when shopping on eBay. I really try to find pictures of super-dooper RARE memorabilia! Up above is a small example of that idea. The top pic is a RARE Small 1966 Candy Box featuring the Penguin. The next pic, which is 4 pictures together, are 4 Vintage Postcards also from 1966. Please let me know if you like any of them. The next 2 shots are of 1960's TV Guides & the 1st magazine in the pic is from Argentina ( Super-Rare! ). Below that is a neat "Dot-To-Dot" Coloring Book ( I think this is from England, not sure ). For the final pic I saved the best for last! This is an extremely SUPER-RARE SET of Batman Tie-Link & Cuff-Links in original box!! A friend of mine sent me that photo & in 20 years of collecting I have NEVER seen this. I was blown-away when I opened my e-mail, LOL. Thanx Lee, for that pic! ( As always, Click on the Small Pics for Larger Ones ).

Batman ART OF NEAL ADAMS Hardback Books

In a previous posting I mentioned these Neal Adams Books of his artwork because I did a small article on one of his Batman Paintings ( Check out my archives for more info ). Well, here are the books I was tellin' ya about, I really really want these! So far there are 3 Volumes & these babies are BIG & THICK. I checked Amazon today ( Sept 14th ) & they're on sale! The original price was $49.95 but now they're $33.00. So all three can be had for about $100 & that's better than paying $150, right?! At the moment I'm kinda broke so as soon as I get back on my feet I plan to buy at least the 1st Volume. Also, Neal Adams sells these on his official webpage SIGNED but I forgot how much those were. I think he even has some copies where he draws some Batman art on the 1st page AND signs it! Droooool!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman & Villians Tattoo Art

I don't have any tattoos but if I did get one I would get a Batman Logo, probably the BAT SYMBOL ( Yellow oval with black bat-graphic inside ). Here's some examples I found on the net & I think they're cool, they're very well done. These tattoo artists are gooood! There are 2 BATMAN ones, one of the JOKER, & my favorite is the one of TWO-FACE. If any of my readers have a Bat-Tattoo then please send a photo! ( Click on the Above Pics for Larger Photos )

BATMAN & THE SIMPSONS TV SHOW PICS!

OK, I love Batman ( Duhhhh ) & I also love The Simpsons! So, I thought I would post these 2 funny pictures I found the other day! One is an opening "couch scene" from the Simpsons where the family all lands on the couch in Batman & Robin Costumes, Classic! The second one is an original painting by an unknown artist where Marge & Batman are getting married! The artwork on that is awesome! He, or she, did a really great job. Not sure of the medium but I'm guessing acrylic.....very nice.

Batman Junk Yard ART! ( New Photos )

In a previous post, that is now archived ( Humor ), I showed a photo of this very funny junk-metal BATMAN yard art. I love this! It's the DARK KNIGHT himself! Now all this guy needs to do is make a Robin or even better, a JOKER! Yes, a Joker would be great! But not the movie version, more like the comic book. I really want to have this Batman figure for my back yard & I don't even have a garden, ha ha. In that earlier post I asked if anyone had some other pictures of this wonderful masterpiece & if they did to please send them. Wow, the next day begins & a sweet lady sent these 2 NEW photos of the BATMAN sculpture!! I love this thing, Thanx Mary! ( Click the Small Picture To See Large Photo ).

BATBLOG Batman Wallpapers : TWO Animated Series PICS!

If you wanna see more Batman Wallpaper then check out the BATBLOG WALLPAPER PAGE Link Button on the top right-hand side of the Bat-Blog! ( Click Small Photo for Large Picture! )

Batman as Hot Dog Vendor ( Humor ) Funny Photo!

This is a wacky photo sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader who enjoys the humor photos I post. He said, "I think this is the funniest Bat-Picture I have ever seen!"...Well Jim, I have to agree! I love the BATMAN SYMBOL on the cart of the hotdog logo! I bet he even has a DVD player playing the Batman Theme Song in the background too, ya know to attract customers, ha ha. Thanx for sending it.

Kellogg's FROSTED FLAKES with Batman Premium!

Included in this post are 2 pictures that will make any toy collector drool! This is the SUPER-MEGA-RARE 1966 Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Cereal Box with the advertising on the back for the 60s Batman Stampets Printing Playset! And what's that price of 25 cents about?! Was it only 25 cents?!! The other picture is another photo I found along time ago that is taken from the B&W TV Commercial for the cereal box that had the BATMAN PERISCOPE premium, another great advertising mail-away item! I hope you enjoyed these photos & if you have any Vintage Batman-Related Cereal Items then please send a pic! ( Click on the Tony Tiger Box for a Way Bigger Photo! )

RARE 1966 Batman Lunchbox & Thermos, Aladdin!

OK, This might seem kinda funny to alot of my readers. You already know I'm a huge Bat-Freak but what you don't know is that I also collect lunchboxes. I'm not as serious about them as Batman but I do love them & have about 60 on display. Ok, I DO NOT HAVE THE 1966 BATMAN LUNCHBOX! I don't know what the deal is. I mean, I have just never found it....cheap. I guess I could go on eBay & pay $100.00 but what's the point of that? Plus, I am NOT rich! I just can't afford to "buy it" right now. The other funny thing is my friend Rob, who's also a long-time toy dealer, has had this box like 4 times! Another friend of mine, who's a collector only, found this box with thermos at a garage sale about 6 years ago for $2.00. You read that right, $2.00!! Doesn't that break your heart?! Well, I was happy for my friend & glad he found it. He really wanted this box too & he was thrilled! Ha Ha Ha, SOMEDAY THIS RARE LUNCH BOX WILL BE MMMINE!

RARE TOY : 1966 Batman SWITCH-N-GO Mattel

Here's an awesome picture of the super-RARE "Batman SWITCH-N-GO" made by Mattel in 1966!! Look at that beautiful Batmobile Toy! I also love the graphics on the BOX. This toy is one of the holy grails of Bat-Collecting. I have only seen it one time in 20 years of hardcore hunting! I have gone to tons of local collectible toy shows here in Oklahoma, Kansas, Chicago, Texas, etc...I mean, the toy show I used to go to in Chicago was an international show that brought all the millionaire collectors from all over the world! That's where I saw it. A guy practically had a whole booth dedicated to just this one item, a total ego trip if you ask me, because he was asking an extremely high price! I think he knew no one would pay his stupid inflated price & I think he just wanted to show it off plus torture collectors with it. Those kinda "dealers" make me sick! I deal toys for a living & it's hard. Especially in today's world where every retired person, soccer mom, & anyone with a computer is an eBay "dealer"! To set-up at a show just to display stuff to torture people is kinda twisted! Needless to say, after the show, he took it home, happy to have crushed alot of people's dreams. Whew! Sorry to go off on a rant but it makes me mad thinkin' about it! ( As always, Click the Small Pic for a Bigger One! )

Batman-Related Comic Strip & Funny Picture!

Here's a very funny picture of "Batman with Dogs Playing Poker" I found on the net a year ago & a great comic strip called Bizarro. Bizarro is drawn by Dan Piraro. His artwork is always great & he has a really really weird sense of humor. He's mostly syndicated in independant newspapers across the USA. These are usually free papers & I always try to pick up our local one just to read his strip....it's usually very funny! You can see more of his work at UCOMICS.COM. ( Click The Small Pictures To See Larger Ones ).

Batman Wallpapers : Female Villians!

Since I took a break yesterday I thought I would post 2 Batman Wallpapers. I got an e-mail asking for pix of Catwoman & Harley so here ya go Jeff! By the way, I love the new Catwoman character, cool costume & goggles! ( Click on Small Picture To See large Wallpaper ).

Batman 9/11 Tattoo : World Trade Center 911 Tribute

I know alot of people have probably seen this Batman tattoo photo before, it's pretty popular on the net. But with today being the 5th anniversary of 9/11 I thought I would make just one posting today & have it be this picture. I realize the picture might seem kinda corny but I swear I don't mean to trivialize the event. Five years ago I had just woke up & my girlfriend said she heard on the radio that an airplane ( the 1st one ) had just hit the WTC. At the time we had NO idea it was a terrorist act, we just thought it was an accident. I turned on CNN & became instantly engrossed. When the 2nd plane hit we both saw it LIVE, it was a major shock! I want to send my deepest sympanthy & prayers out to all the families touched by 911....GOD BLESS YOU, WE WILL NEVER FORGET! ( Tattoo Artist: Scottie Lowe at Shotsie's Tattoo in Wayne, New Jersey. )

BATMAN DEAD END Fan Made Film ( Click to Start )

Batman Goes Shopping!

Hey! Looks like Batman needs some office supplies for the Bat-Cave. Now he has a paper shredder for the Bat-Documents....hee hee. I got this picture from a Batman Message Board where the guy said he thought he would try an experiment & go out into the real world wearing his costume. WOW! This costume is very high-quality! That took alot of guts to do & I bet he made alot of people's day alot better, thanks for that. I also bet some kids really freaked out too, I know my 2 nephews would! Could you imagine being 5 years old & seeing Batman in "real life"...ha ha. ( Click Small Picture for Larger photo! )

The DARK KNIGHT in his Batmobile Bat-Wagon!

I had to post this funny picture all by itself. It really cracks me up! Some parent made this very lucky kid a Batmobile with the wheels of a toy wagon. It looks like it's make outta wood & they painted a nice Batman Symbol Logo on the hood! I think they did a really great job. I love this photo, I can hear the theme song now, not the one from the Animated Series but the 60's TV Show, ha ha!

RARE 1976 Batgirl Costume from Argentina!

Here's a Super-RARE Batgirl collectible you don't see everyday! This is a BATGIRL "Batichica" Halloween Costume from Argentina sent in by a BAT-BLOG reader! It was made by the Plastirama Costume Company in 1976. They also made Batman, Joker, & Riddler. I also think they made one of the Penguin. In a previous post I displayed a picture of the ROBIN Costume & asked if anyone had a pic of the others. Thanx Debbie for sending the pic!

Funny Batman Humor Pictures, Again!

OK, it's that time again! Here are some very funny Batman-Related photos, enjoy. Ahhh, I like the one where Batman is making a pitstop at 7-11! Looks like he's using his bat-Wallet, hee hee. Also, check out the expression of the cashier lady, classic! I also love the artwork of the characters as Rappers, good coloring / very well drawn! Not sure who did it but good job!

Very Very Serious Batman Costumes!

I recently came across a website that's a message board for people who are into Superhero Costumes & I mean, REALLY into it!! These people are quite serious & the costumes they make are incredible. I'm not kiddin', these costumes are better than the stuff made in Hollywood! Look at the above photos, these costumes are very detailed. I've included a link & if this kinda stuff interests you then you should check it out!! http://com1.runboard.com/bbrotherhoodofthebat

Funny Batman Pop-Up Ad : Humor!

Does Anyone Remember This Annoying Pop-Up Ad? OK, I'm NOT giving away a free PSP, ha ha! Did anyone besides me ever get this annoying pop-up? It had an animated FLASH GAME of Batman & you could control a "gun" with your mouse. The game was to hit Batman with a shot of green slime. If ya hit him, you win! Actually it was a way to trick you into clicking on a link to another page...spammers are lame!

OK, Batman Cake Time Again! Humor

Hee Hee, I love these...they're almost too pretty to eat!

Batman Graffiti Art, Yes I Said ART!

Here's some Batman Inspired GRAFFITI ART seen around the globe. ( One of the pictures is from France, the other is from Spain ). I love these kind of public displays of art & hope that maybe some readers could send me some of their photos!

Child's BATMAN ART sent in by reader!

Here's a wonderful photograph sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader who enjoys drawing pictures of Batman with crayons! Yes, he's only 7 years old but he has alot of talent! His name is Jimmy & his Dad wrote, " My son wanted me to send you this photo, we both like to visit your BLOG to see what's new. My son loves the "Batman Wallpapers" because they are BIG, ha ha. Here's a recent photo of his work, we hope your readers enjoy it! ". Yes! Thanks Jimmy, you did a great job & I'm sure my readers will love it. Please feel free to send any other masterpieces you might make...great stuff! Thanks again!

Holy Bat-Pets!! ( Humor )

STAR TREK VS BATMAN : FAN-MADE MOVIE!!

HOLY HOLLYWOOD, BATMAN! Here's a link to this new Batman Fan-Made Film titled "STAR TREK VS BATMAN"....Check it out, it's really great, ha ha! This fan-made movie is awesome!! The actors are pretty decent & where did they get a "real" 60s Batmobile?? I love that car, you should watch it just to see the car!! Also, the costumes are perfect, very well-detailed, high quality....THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB! It features "Captain Kirk, Spock, & a few other Enterprise members" from the Classic 1960's Star Trek TV Show. It also has 1966 versions of "Batman, Robin, Joker, & Catwoman" too! The soundtrack & sound effects are great. The way it's edited it's just like the show if they were blended together.....cool! I've included a LINK BUTTON to see it that you can find in "My Links". That is on the RIGHT-HAND SIDE of my BLOG near the TOP!

The Batman Wallpaper : Fun for your Desktop!

Here's a great WALLPAPER image from the New THE BATMAN Cartoon Series. It features Batman & Batgirl together! Now, many readers are gonna think I'm totally crazy ( like they don't already! ) but I have NEVER SEEN THIS SHOW! Ha Ha, I know! I'm the biggest Bat-Fan on the planet & I have never seen one episode yet! I don't have anything against it, the artwork I've seen looks cool. I guess it's for a few reasons: I work when it's on TV, my VCR is broken, & I don't have TIVO! I know that Season One has got to be out on DVD already so I just gotta find the time to rent it & watch it, ha ha! I think it's about to start it's 4th season, whatta loser I am! ( As always, Click on the Smaller Picture to See LARGE Photo ).

Batman Lego Comic Book - San Diego Con 2006

Here's a very cool item for you bat-collectors who are spazzed-out over the NEW Batman Lego Toys ( I know I am! ). This is a special edition comic book that was a give-away at the 2006 San Diego Comic Con a month or two ago. You could only get it at the event in the Lego Toys Booth & I think, the DC Comics Booth. I really want one, I didn't get to go....waaaaaaa wwwaaaaa.

Batman TV Show 40th Anniversary T-Shirt

Three Obscure 1960's Batman Items to Drool Over!

Digging deep into the files of my Bat-Computer I found these 3 pix of some very RARE 1960's Batman Items! One is a Large Store Display Poster for Batman Chocolate Milk ( Shown here nicely framed ), the 2nd item is a group of three metal license plates that are hard-to-find! The 3rd pic is my favorite, This is an old issue of TOYS & NOVELTIES Magazine with a special cover story on Vintage 1966 Toys! I've never seen it but have been told it's like p0rn0 if you're a bat-collector! Basically they reprint alot of the toy industry catalogs that were mailed to department stores, toy shops, etc...that showed what "current" toys were available! Just the photo on the cover has many holy grails right there!

POPAGANDA - The Art of Ron English

OK, I'm sort of on an ART kick today so I knew I had to mention RON ENGLISH! He's a present-day artist who is pushing the envelope on art, he's great! I love ALL of his artwork & especially the Batman-Inspired pieces. I've enclosed 2 pictures of his artwork ( Large Batman & Robin Paintings ) & a nice photo of him painting at his easel. For more info check out his website: http://www.popaganda.com/

Dukes of Hazzard - YEEEE HHAAAWWW!

Here's a wonderful photograph sent in by a loyal BAT-BLOG reader who enjoys dressing up as Batman at public events! His name is Scott & he wrote, " Here's a pic I thought you might like...the real Rosco P. Coltrane from the original Dukes of Hazzard TV Show and me in my Batman suit! "....WOW, it's an awesome picture, thank you. Please send us new photos anytime, it's great! I also forgot to mention what an awesome costume you have too! ( Click on the above picture for a larger view )

ART : NEW JOKER PAINTING BY ADAM WEST!

In the posting below I talk about the BATMAN ART SHOW at Mmodern Art Gallery where they had Adam West & many other artists in a large group show...hee hee, I forgot to add the picture of the Adam West painting so here it is! Please be sure to read the below article about the show, there's some nice links!

MModern Gallery - Batman Inspired Art Show

Last June ( 24th ) M Modern Gallery in Palm Springs had 2 art shows on the same day to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 60's Batman TV Show. The 2 shows were called: BEYOND BATMAN - A solo exhibition of works by ADAM WEST and GOTHAM - a group exhibition of Batman inspired artwork. Both Adam West & Julie Newmar were present & this was a show I wish I could have gone too! I love FINE ART & Batman so this would have been a dream! Here on my BAT-BLOG I'm showing a small sample of the paintings that were in the GOTHAM Group Show. I'm sure some of these paintings might still be avaliable & ya can talk to them about buying one or two! To see a large sample of work by the GOTHAM artists visit this page: http://www.joeyremmers.com/mmodern_gotham To see Adam West's Painting of the Joker & read about the show: http://mmoderngallery.blogspot.com/

Tonight I got an e-mail from a guy who said he loves the wacky costume pix so here ya go!

1966 Ideal Batman Playset - 2nd Version

In an earlier post I displayed a picture of the 1966 Batman / Justice League of America Playset by Ideal. Here is another variation in a slightly smaller box & just simply called Batman Playset. ( Click the small pic for larger one ).

Topps Trading Card Wrappers 1966

Here's a nice pic I found of some 1966 Topps Trading Card Wrappers. I only have 1 of these ( top-right ) & want the others. I'm pretty sure these are ALL the wrappers for that time period....does anyone else have a different example? Please let me know. ( Click the small pic for large photo ).

BATBLOG LINK BUTTONS FOR YOU TO USE!

Some people have e-mailed saying that they are gonna add a link on their webpages for my BAT-BLOG PAGE....that's awesome!! Thank You. Here are some link buttons to use. Choose any size ya want but please go with the biggest you can! Anyone who feels free to use them can as long as they link here to my main page. ( Click the pictures above to see larger photos ). Batman Wallpaper : Batmobile Vending Machine

Since I am kinda on a Batmobile Car kick today I thought I would post this as wallpaper. ( Click on Small Pic for Larger Version ). I have always wanted one of these. We had a local "Mom & Pop" type grocery store here for years that had one of these up front & I used to love passing it, just to see it. Then all of a sudden, one day, it was gone! YYYYAAAAAAHHH!

Really Nice Custom Corvette Batmobile

This car is sweet! Chuck Barris would be very proud. This is a cherry-condition Vintage Corvette that has been customized a little to look like the Batmobile. I think I'm in love! I like how it's sort of low key & not over the top, very "tastefully done". The funny thing is that my personal car, a small green Nissan truck, has the same BAT-LOGO license plate like this car has on the front bumper, ha ha. I would trade any day....enjoy. ( Click on Small Pic for Larger Version )

Batman Humor Returns!

OK, Here's some funny Batman pics I'm posting because I gotta! You either love 'em or hate 'em....and I love 'em! I get more "Thank You" e-mails about the humor stuff than anything else but I swear I'm not pandering, I just like this stuff too. I think it's important to have a good laugh every now & then, hee hee hee. The top one of the homemade DARK KNIGHT "Junk Art" Sculpture....that thing is funny! I really like it alot & whoever did it is a true artist. The details are awesome & hey! Is that a toaster welded to his bat-belt?! I wish I had more pics of it, it's sweet!

BATMAN 1960'S JAPAN TIN TOY CARS

I've been collecting Batman comic books & toys forever but my favorite items are the 1960's tin toys from Japan! These tin toys are so impossible to find that when they go on eBay they realize good prices. I don't know where anyone would go to shop for these cheap, they don't exist! For Bat-Collectors these are so RARE & beautiful that they are like ART, e'nuff said!

New Batman Wallpaper : RATFINK DESKTOP!

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS! When I came across this pic I knew it had to be made into PC wallpaper, it's a beautiful work of ART! It reminds me of the BIG DADDY ED ROTH artwork. He drew RATFINK & hot rod cars in the 1960's with a very graphic style. This guy was probably influenced by him & I love the expression on Batman's face! ( Click Small Picture to See Large Wallpaper ).

HAKES AUCTION RESULTS: Vintage Batman Items!

Here are three very high-quality Vintage 1966 Batman items sold recently by Hakes Auction Service. I remember wayyyy before eBay took over Hakes had the best auctions around. I used to love getting their memorabilia catalog for shopping! I can't remember but I think they also just sold toys too. These 3 RARE Batman items have ended recently & here are the price results: The Batman Advertising Insert for the Philadelphia Newspaper sold for $3360. The Large Batman Bond Bread Advertising Sign & store display w/ Robin sold for $1016. The Batman Flying Batplane in Box, made by Remco ( a very Classic Toy Company we all know & love ), sold for $380. Hakes is now on the internet, check 'em out!! http://www.hakes.com/

Batman & Robin Modern Art on eBay!

Here's a really cool & very high-quality set of 2 POP ART Paintings I saw on eBay a few years ago. I forgot the name of the artist but at the time he was crankin' out alot of superhero paintings like this & they were all great! This one was very minimal but he also did some that were realistically rendered. He was also doing some really nice Amazing Spiderman pictures too. I haven't seen him on eBay lately so I hope he's found a gallery to sell or is still painting, he's great! If anyone know's where or who he is please send an e-mail. ( Click small picture to see larger photo ).

2 Vintage 1966 Batman Costumed Kids Photos!!

Here's a set of vintage photos sent in by a reader of 3 kids wearing Official Batman Masks & Capes circa 1966 & another photo from the same day of them with their favorite comics...very very cool, I love Vintage memorabilia like this, please send more! Thanx Dave!! One last note, I think it would be cool to figure out which exact comic books those are, ha ha, ok now I'm a BAT GEEK!

JORDAN & WILL HAVING FUN PARTYING!

Here's a picture of my 2 favorite nephews in the BRAND-NEW Batman Inflatable Jumping Pen! These are great for birthday parties. I would like to have this in my collection but where would I keep it & how could I even buy it?! Yes, rental is the way to go on this. I can always dream, right? They do look like they're havin' fun...YYYEEE HHHAAAWWW!

Here's a wonderful Vintage 1960's or 70's Photo sent in by a reader & I love it!! Thanx Adam! ( Click on photo above for larger picture! )

Vintage 60's BATMOBILE CARNIVAL RIDE!!

Here's a wonderful photo I found a few years ago on the internet & it has no expaination as to it's location. The lady begins her story that her husband used to work for a carnival & they were throwing these rides in the trash! He decided to keep this one & she made it into an outside planter, ouch! This baby deserves to be in a museum, it's a classic piece of vintage 60s memorabilia, I wish I had it!!

I'm Batman!! ( Kid's Halloween Costume Photos )

Anyone familuar with my BATBLOG knows that I love these pictures of kids wearing halloween costumes...they're funny! I remember one time seeing a kid's Batman costume once that was so detailed it looked like something from a Hollywood movie! It was way better than anything you could get at Target or Walmart! Of course it must have cost alot, I like the cheaper ones better. These are future Bat-Collectors, watch out!

Vintage 1960's Japanese Batman Toys!

Here's a classic example of vintage 1960's memorabilia! Here are 2 different game boards & a set of playing pieces for a Vintage 60's Batman Board Game that was bootlegged in Japan....I love the graphics, they're right on target! ( Click on the pictures above for larger photos ).

The Incredibles as Batman and Robin

Here's a funny pic I came across on my old computer! It's a parody of new THE INCREDIBLES movie by Pixar / Disney ...if they were Batman & Robin! Love it!

Amazing BATMAN SIDEWALK CHALK ART!

I'm still trying to find out more about this artist but his picture ( seen above ) is causing quite a stir on the net. The artwork you see was drawn on a sidewalk with pastel chalks in a special way to trick the eye into believing it is a 3-D picture. It looks so real! The "real person" in the photo should give you an idea of scale, it's huge! Plus all the tiny detailing is right on target! I just wanted to share this pic because I thought this guy is extremely talented, I'm impressed! You can't buy art this good at Walmart! SUPPORT THE ARTS!

LESBIAN BATWOMAN : Out Of The Closet!

Recent comic book news is that Batwoman is out of the closet! She is a Lesbian & I don't know what the big deal is. I think DC is doing it to reach a more diverse modern audience, create shock value, & keep her from having a love interest with Batman. That was always a storyline problem in the past, "How do we keep them apart?". It always begins to seem like they're getting together & then ...boom! Bruce Wayne will always be alone, it's apart of his character, plus he's wayyyy too busy fighting crime! He seems to be a symbol of the lonely hero. Some people are treating it like a joke & that's really killing my buzz.

Batman Wallpaper : 1966 Collectibles!

Here's an image I found on the internet a few years ago that is a really great assortment of classic 60's Batman toys & memorabilia. There's a few things I have like the Batman Music Record with theme song & the Topps bubblegum wrapper. I wish I had that robot though! The photo is a little grainy but still has a great look about it, enjoy! ( Click On Small Picture to See Wallpaper-Sized Photo ).

BATMAN BEGINS 2 : New Joker!

It's official, the second Batman Begins Movie # 2 will be titled THE DARK KNIGHT & Heath Ledger will play The Joker! Also, this is the 1st time in movie history that the word "BATMAN" won't be in the title. I can't wait!

Some Funny Batman Pictures From The Net!

People have sent me e-mails saying how they really love the humor photos so here's a nice assortment!

Some RARE Vintage Batman Toys!

I was feeling kind of lazy this morning so I thought I would just post a few pictures of some really RARE Vintage Batman Toys I would love to have.( Click the Photos For Larger Pictures ).

BATMAN BIRTHDAY CAKES! Humor

I really have a thing for these kinda old pictures. Kid's birthday memories are special & usually the photograph is the only way to ever remember these cakes because 10 seconds after the photo people start wolfing them down, ha ha! You can see the love put into them with the great details. Enjoy.

Now, I'm a Bat-freak & I have never see this anywhere! I would really love to have one of these, it's very well-done. Batman Artwork from the Net!

Here's 2 very cool Batman Drawings found on the net. One of them is a college that reminds me alot of those M.C.Escher Art Prints where pieces lock together like a puzzle, very nice! The other one is done by an artist who specializes in airbrush techniques.

RARE 1976 Robin Costume from Argentina

Here's a Super-RARE Bat-Item you don't see everyday. This is a ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER Halloween Costume from Argentina! It was made by the Plastirama Costume Co in 1976. They also made Batman, Joker, & Riddler. I also think they made one of Penguin. These are items collectors like us dream about! If anyone has photos of the other ones then please send them so we can share.

Batman Wallpaper : 60's Japanese Toy Gun

I found this image on the net & thought it was so beautiful it deserved to be wallpaper! This is an utra-rare 1960's tin toy sparkler toy gun with awesome graphics! ( Click the picture above to see large version ).

Life-Size Batman Statue

I have been seeing these "Life-Size" Batman Statues on eBay & they were made by a company in Europe. Most people I have seen selling these are from the UK. There are 3 different versions : a movie version where the outfit is all black & his belt is sleek & gold, a retro version that looks like an early Batman costume which is black & grey with a belt that has "military pouches" ( pictured above ), & a comic book version where the colors are blue, grey & black with a yellow belt that has "capsules". I would really love to have one of these so if you're a friend or family member start savin' for Christmas! Hee Hee.

Batman Funny Pictures!

Here's some wacky photos from the net, check 'em out!

Neal Adams Painting!

Here's an actual painting by Classic Batman Comic Book Artist NEAL ADAMS. As a very young comic book collector & reader I worshipped this guy. He was one of the greatest artists who drew for this comic. He had an extremely realistic style that was very detailed. Recently there have been 3 volumes of large hardback books that have reprinted alot of his early Batman work. I really want to add those to my personal collection. Volume 3 just came out & I'm curious if they will be making more. He still makes comic books thru his own publishing firm. He is also responsible for those Nasonex "Spanish Bee" TV commercials you see alot. Here's a link to his web page: http://www.nealadams.com

Vintage 1966 Batman Toys I want!

I have an extremely HUGE Batman collection! Not to be bragging or anything but after almost 20 yrs of obsessively hunting the stuff down I do have quite alot. Here's a few 1966 pieces I have not got yet : Batman Bend-a-Bitty Figure on Card, Batman Combs on Store Display Card ( Droool! ), Batman Balloons, Batman Pencils, & Batman Nite Lite. Actually I have the Nite Lite but NOT on the display card!

BATMAN LEGOS PHOTO : Beatles Abbey Road!

Here's a very funny & clever picture currently circulating the net that is a parody of the classic Beatle's Abbey Road photo using the new Batman Lego Toy Figures....HA HA!

2 Batman Comic Strips found on the net!

Here are 2 really funny Batman Comicstrips found on the net. One of them is by Andy White & he's hilarious! Check out his site at: http://www.andywhite.net

2 Japanese 1960's Batman Toys

Here are 2 super-dooper RARE 1960's Batman Toys from Japan. Actually the 1st example is a record album. The graphics are really cool & if you look very closely there is an "RCA Victor Dog" Logo on the top-right hand side. The other RARE TOY is a Tin Toy Sparking Ray Gun with awesome graphics of Batman & Robin on the stock of the gun. ( Click the photos to enlarge ). I would love to have either of these "Museum Pieces", ha ha!

RARE Mego Robin-Shuttle

I found this on eBay a few years ago & at the time I couldn't afford it. This is the ROBIN-SHUTTLE made by Mego Toys & it's extremely SUPER-RARE! I think it was only made for the foriegn market & you just never see it around. My pics here show the box ( great vintage graphics ) & on the back of the box you can see they also made a vehicle for Batman. These vehicles were made for the small POCKET SUPERHEROES Action Figures & NOT the 8" Mego Dolls....drool!

2 Foriegn Batman Items

Here's a quirky area of Bat-Collecting that I really love : Foriegn Toys. They are extremely hard-to-find & very very RARE! Anything Batman that has foriegn language all over it is for me. One great source is eBay. Before that this stuff was almost non-existant. Here are 2 examples: One is a Puzzle Game from Spain, 1960's. The other is a plastic keychain from Belguim, 1960's. I have a few examples of these RARE keychains but not the game, loser!

Wanted : Push Puppet & Crazy Foam!

Here are 2 items I want reall baaaad that I have not been able to find for over 20 years! I guess I have bad luck. Anyways, here's the extremely RARE Batman Push Puppet by Kohner © 1966 and the very hard-to-find CRAZY FOAM from the 1970's. Basically Crazy Foam was soap you spray out like shaving cream & this was a way to trick kids into taking a bath, ha ha. As a kid I remember having the Superman Crazy Foam but my Mom threw the container away after it was empty, arrrrggghh!

BATGIRL - Girl of My Dreams!

I think I'm in love, hee hee.

Batman Tattoo Photos

Here's some extremely cool tattoos I found on the net. I really love the tattoo as an artform. Many of these tattoo artists are quite good. My favorite one is the playing card with Batman & The Joker, sweet! If any of my readers have a Batman-Themed Tattoo then please send a photo.

Birthday Party!

Here's 2 nice photos of some people partying with a Batman theme & a set of Vintage 1966 Party Supplies, very cool!

Bat-Sprinkler!

Here's a recent Garage Sale find, a Batman Figure Lawn Sprinkler! It was only $1.00 so I had to buy it, ha ha. This is a newer toy from THE BATMAN cartoon.

TWO HOLY GRAILS!

Pictured above are 2 of the MOST sought after "Holy Grails" of Bat-Collecting . . . The Ideal 1966 Batman Utility Belt & the Ideal 1966 Batman / Justice League of America Playset!! Both of these are quite RARE to find sealed in the original box, complete. The boxes are huge & great for display. I have a few of the small figures for the playset but nothing from the utilty belt. I know that someday I will walk into a garage sale at 12:00 & these will be laying underneath a table for $2.00 each, still shrink-wrapped!

Nestle's QUIK Ad w/ BAT-PEN Premium

This vintage ad kind of tortures me because now I GOTTA FIND THIS BATMAN PEN! Ha Ha! As a wacked-out, but very serious, Bat-Collector I'm always trying to find the super rare & unusual Bat-Items there are. This pen has GOT to be RARE! I do love this ad for combining 2 great things, Batman & Nestle Quik!

1966 Kellogg's POP-TARTS GIVEAWAY

Included in this photo is the COMPLETE SET of SIX Batman Giveaway Comics that were individually inserted in boxes of Kellogg's Pop-Tarts in 1966. They had 16 pages. The 2 issues with Joker & Catwoman on the cover are special because the art was drawn by Carmine Infantino, classic! I thought I would post this for someone trying to complete a set of these, sort of a check-list. They are kinda hard to find so good luck!
