CUSTOM BATMAN TOY : Mattel Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Monster Jam Truck!!

Here's a set of photos taken by a friend of the Bat-Blog named Carlos. He got extremely creative one night & made this kick-ass custom toy Batmobile! He took a regular Mattel 1966 Batmobile Hot Wheels Diecast Car & made it into a Monster Jam truck!! We love the details like the mags having the Bat-Symbol logo & the way it all looks so production-made, nice job. This is actually a very cool idea & Mattel should really make one! Thank you Carlos for the use of the photo & sharing your great Bat-Toy. If any other readers have some customized toys ( cars, action figures, dolls, etc... ) then please send them in to us.

DARK KNIGHT NEWS : The Joker's Message at WHYSOSERIOUS.COM ( Joker Wallpaper )

This photo of The Joker is a Desktop Wallpaper!
OK, We have all been suckered by the "event" at the Joker's WHYSOSERIOUS website. For awhile now there has been a really cool animation at that page of a Jack O'Lantern Pumpkin with a burning candle getting shorter & one side of the pumpkin rotting ( is this a reference to TWO-FACE? ). Well, everybody has been speculating that on Halloween something was gonna happen, it did! Very early in the morning this picture showed up ( 1st photo ). There were cut-out letters like a ransom note & when you click on them they had clues. People were invited to figure them out all day. They were like scavenger hunt clues in major cities. I guess all the clues got done because later you saw the finished message ( 2nd photo ). OK, after the message was finished you could click on a secret place of the photo & an animation would appear. The "secret place" is around the bottom right-hand side, near the knife...if you go there try to click it, ha ha! Clicking it causes the note to burst into flames ( a cool animation ) & this photo of The Joker appears. After you see Joker's new photo you can click it & it would go to a new website called RORYSDEATHKISS ( last photo ). The "Rory's Death Kiss" page has another clue that will be solved soon. Don't worry, the Bat-Blog will keep you updated! Check it out for yourself at http://www.whysoserious.com. Oh yeah, one last thing, the NEW photo of the Joker...I made that a Batman Desktop Wallpaper!

BATMAN COMIC STRIP : Funny Humor Picture

I recently discovered an extremely funny web comic called DUELING ANALOGS. Here's one of their comic strips featuring a LEGO BATMAN FIGURE losing his hand while swinging...hilarious! The humor there is sort of twisted. You can find their site at: http://www.duelinganalogs.com/

BATMAN TV NEWS : THE JOKER On SOUTHPARK Cartoon!!

Did anybody see the brand-new Southpark episode on TV the other night? They had the main characters go to a place called "Imaginary Land" where all the good & bad characters live. It featured a ton of "people" we all love like Freddy Kruger, Frankenstein, Jason, Darth Maul, Creature From The Lost Lagoon, Strawberry Shortcake, etc... But, they showed The Joker in one of the close-ups...did you see him? Here's a picture. The funny thing is that now people are debating if it was the "Jack Nicholson" 1989 Batman Movie Joker, "Comic Book" Joker, or the "Heath Ledger" The Dark Knight Movie Joker...what's your opinion? Post your comment down below.

THE DARK KNIGHT PUMPKIN ON THE JOKER'S WEBSITE

For Halloween Warner Bros is using it's DARK KNIGHT web page as a marketing tool & I guess it's working. If you go to the page they "made up" for the Joker then you can see an animation of a Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin. It's the same style pumpkin you see in the graphic novel The Long Halloween where the mouth is cut-out to look like the Bat-Symbol. Now, awhile back the pumpkin was fresh & the candle was brand new. But today, on the 28th, the candle is burned down way low & the pumpkin is starting to rot. So, the pumpkin has been very slowly rotting away. Everybody is all excited about what they think might happen on Halloween night, October 31st. Let's all wait & see. Hopefully it will be something very cool, ha ha ha ha ha! Here's a link to check it out:

CUSTOM TOYS : Cool 1966 Batman TV Show Figures!

Shown in the photo up above are some Custom-Made Toys from a friend to the Bat-Blog. Please be sure to click the picture for a larger, more detailed, photo. We asked him about these amazing pieces of ART & he wrote, "They are made out of Super-Flex Sculptey and painted with Acrylic Paint. They each took 3-4 days to make, and they're plastic army man scale, about 2 inches in height. They are not for sale at the moment. I make them for the sheer fun of it". WOW!! These are really beautiful, good job!! I love that you did some of the very obscure TV Villain characters. The figures include: Batman, Robin, The Joker, Riddler ( Wow, That face looks exactly like Frank Gorshin! ), Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, Madhatter, Catwoman, Egghead, The Penguin, King Tut, & Bookworm too! The faces on ALL of these figures are amazing. For example, look at King Tut's face. It looks EXACTLY like the actor!!

VINTAGE PHOTO : Great Picture for Halloween of BOB KANE Dressed in Batman Costume!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Here's a photo I recently saw on one of my favorite Batman Message Boards that shows BOB KANE ( co-creator of Batman, worked with Bill Finger but he NEVER gets credit, ha ha ) dressed as Batman. It's a vintage black & white photo but not sure of the exact date. Behind him, on the wall, are some of the POP ART paintings he did & they're dated 1968 & 1969 so that's a clue. Guessing early 1970's. But I still love it & wonder what the deal is. Did he dress-up in a Batman Costume for Halloween or was it for promotional purposes only? Either way it's a real treasure. Thanks Chuck for posting this great graphic!

FOREIGN BATMAN WEBSITE With Cool 3-D Art Graphics

This graphic below is a HUGE Desktop Wallpaper, Click on it to see it's beauty!
The other day I noticed a new link to my page from a site with a strange name. I mean strange in that it was foreign, not weird! Ha Ha, anyway, I went to check it out & it's from Germany. The language is German & I can't read it but the site is still very easy to navigate as it is very well-designed. There's a ton of original graphics there, mostly 3-D in style. Up above I am showing the Main Header for the site & the picture below that is a desktop wallpaper showing Batman done in 3D artwork. You guys might check it out sometime because it's pretty cool. New 2008 Batman Toys : AME COMI Batgirl & Catwoman 9" PVC Vinyl ANIME Action Figures

These AME COMI BATGIRL & CATWOMAN PVC STATUES are each a limited-edition, hand-painted PVC statue 9" tall from DC Comics. They are done in a wacky "Japanese Anime" style. I think Batgirl looks kinda dumb, more like one of the characters in The BATTLE OF THE PLANETS, remember that cartoon?! But, I think the Catwoman is pretty sexy...MEOW!! They will also be making a AME COMI Power Girl & Supergirl. This limited edition non-articulate plastic display figure comes with a base and is packaged in a 4-color window box. Release date is January 23rd, 2008. The retail price will be around $40.00 but TFAW will offer them at $32.00 which is 20% OFF.

Vintage 1970's BATMAN TOYS Comic Book Ad

Does anybody else remember these full-page advertisements that ran in DC Comic Books in the 70's? They were from a company that sold superhero merchandise. As a little kid I used to order their catalogs & drool for days, ha ha! They were jam-packed with toys & books that were all comic book character related: Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern / Arrow, etc... There were Mego dolls, action figures, vehicles, play sets, etc... This ad features a few very very RARE toys. For example, you NEVER see those "Stunt Cycles" with Batman, Penguin, & The Joker! That "Styrofoam Bat-Plane" is RARE because you know they were all destroyed by playing with them, ha ha! The only semi-common item on that page is the "Batman Squirt Gun" that's shaped like his head. I have one of those in a display case & it's one of my favorite pieces just because it's so weird. One last thing, this ad is from 1976.

Vintage BATMAN POSTERS : Rock Music Concert & Retail Store Displays

I keep a lot of reference material & pictures handy to do these posts. I have a folder on my PC where I dump tons of Batman related photos & then when it's time to post I go there. This morning I saw a few pictures that created a "theme". Here are some Vintage Batman Posters I thought were pretty cool. The 1st photo is a set of 2 Retail Store Display Posters for Batman Fruit Drink & Dairy Products. They were made during the 1966 TV Show & are double-printed so that a grocer could fold in them in half, hang them on a wire in the grocery store, & have visuals on both sides. I seriously love the cheesy retro-graphics, ha ha! The next poster is a RARE Vintage 60's Rock Concert Poster for a show at the Fillmore Auditorium on March 18, 19, & 20th. This baby has got to be super-RARE! The last poster is a photo sent in by a friend. It's a promo poster from a comic book shop in the Netherlands & the cool thing is that it has foreign language on it. It's from the 1980's & has awesome graphics! ( Thank you John for sending the cool picture ).

Wednesday is Free BATMAN WALLPAPER BACKGROUNDS Day!

For today's choice of wallpapers I picked 2 really cool pictures of Batman & one of them even has The Joker! The 1st one is a graphic from Batman: The Animated Series. I always loved the "Art Deco look" of that TV Series. This would make a great background for a MYSpace layout or profile. The next image is from a modern-day Batman comic book & features The Joker. This one makes really cool wallpaper for your desktop! If you're looking for some more wallpapers then please remember to check the archives. We also have a "Free Batman Wallpapers" page so check that out too. The link buttons for both of them are on the left-side of this blog.

FUNNY BATMAN PICTURES: Humor Photos

Here's some really funny pictures & photos I recently saw on the web. They are great examples of people's creativity & because they are all using Batman I thought I would post them here. The 1st one is a photoshopped picture using a graphic from Disney Pixar's THE INCREDIBLES. They made the characters look like Catwoman, Batman, with Robin & they did a pretty good job. Plus, it's kinda funny. The next one is an actual real-life Batman-Themed Inflatable Carnival Ride you can buy or rent for a birthday party event. The doorway features a very large Batman figure. The next funny picture is a T-Shirt with cartoon graphics of a lot of ladies chasing after Batman & NOT Robin. The name of the shirt is "WEST IS BEST!". Ummm, I think Burt Ward would disagree with that one!! I hope all of you thought that at least one of these pictures were funny, humorous, or just weird! If you have a wacky photo to send then please do.

Japanese BATMAN CEL PHONE : Dmobo iRock M8

Dmobo, from Japan, shows us it's latest iRock M8 Cel Phone which is themed by the DC Comics comic book superhero, Batman! This Batman Phone is a music phone which has 96 X 96 pixels OLED screen ( 1.10 inches ), Bluetooth A2DP, FM Radio and of course a music player. It has 128mb internal memory for you to store songs, but that’s definitely not enough, so there is a MicroSD slot (supporting up to 1GB ) for expansion. For the UI, it is full of Batman, from the logos to wallpapers and ringtones. The phone is quite small, it measures 90.6 x 35.3 x 18.2 mm and weighs 64 g. Click on the picture up above for a bigger photo.

BATMAN CUSTOM CARS : Homemade Batmobiles

These kind of custom cars really crack me up, ha ha! I love when people get creative & decide to turn an old car into the Batmobile. Here are 2 super-great examples. The 1st one is a 1968 Chevy Impala. It's painted in the classic George Barris style: black paint job with red trim. It even has some cool mag tires & great tail fins. It's a beauty! The 2nd car is a little bit funny with just fins ( on front & back ) & Bat-Symbol logo stickers on the doors. Still pretty cool, I'd drive it!

BATMAN GRAPHIC ART ILLUSTRATION : Vintage 1940's Batman Movie Serial

Our friend Rob Kelly recently sent us a very cool Catwoman graphic the other day that we posted. He told us he also had a Batman picture somewhere & that he would have to find it to send later. Well, here it is!! Basically it's one of the Batman actors from the 1940's serial movies....cool! The background looks like some xeroxed images of vintage 40's Batman movie posters while the Batman actor's portrait is done in black & white. Now, the neat thing is that the portrait was done using different colored paper. Each individual color was very carefully cut-out with scissors & then pasted down, a very cool graphic effect! Rob's an extremely talented guy & if you wanna see more of his work then check out his webpage. http://www.namtab.com/

Wacky Fun BATMAN TOYS From Germany!

We have a friend named Philipp ( from Germany ) who, awhile back, sent us a great photograph of some Batman Graffiti Art that we posted. Well, after that he sent these great pictures of a few pieces of Batman memorabilia he has collected. This was kind of exciting because I have never seen a lot of these toys. The 1st toy is my favorite because it's so funny! It's one of those clip-on "Spider Monkey" figures. The 2nd photo is a flat Mylar Balloon with graphics from Batman: The Animated Series, cool. The 3rd pic is a very cool pair of Bat-Sunglasses ( never seen those before ). The 4th picture is kinda weird. It's a Batman "Bootleg Transformer" figure. This must be from China or something. The last photo is pretty cool. It's a Batman ( BTAS ) Doormat Rug. You have to admit that this is a nice assortment of obscure Batman Memorabilia for sure! We want to thank Phillipp again for these great pix & invite ALL our other readers to send photos of RARE Batman Toys they might have...this is what makes this site so fun!

2 BATMOBILE CAR PAPER MODEL KITS : Free Download

A really cool webpage was brought to my attention the other day. It's a site for people to download paper model kits to make famous cars. They have these 2 vehicles there that I know Bat-Blog readers will love: The 1966 Batmobile from the TV Show ( George Barris' car ) & The Tumbler from Batman Begins Movie ( and soon, The Dark Knight ). These are FREE model kits you download as a PDF file & then print on your computer's printer using card stock paper. After that you cut the pieces out & then glue then together. Looking at the photos you have to admit that they are quite impressive. The attention to details are insane, ha ha! Be sure to click on the photo above for a larger picture where you REALLY see the details, crazy! Down below is a link to that wonderful page. If you do get one of these free kits you should think about giving them a donation but you don't have to. As a side note, if anybody here makes one of these please send us a photo. In fact send us photos of ANY of your Batman-related projects. Have fun! http://paperinside.com/batman

Here are 2 cool ones you might like & if not then be sure to check the ARCHIVES for about 70 more. The 1st one is a really great scan of comic book art sent in by Neal. It's a shot of the Joker's face. I love this picture because it's so sharp & The Joker looks crazy, Thanks Neal. The next wallpaper is a super-close-up color photo of a Batman Birthday Cake. I just thought it was weird & unusual plus "graphically" it looks kinda cool. Try it, you'll see, it's kinda neat.

VINTAGE PHOTO : Kid Dressed-Up in Batman Halloween Costume 1990's

Just in time for Halloween! I opened my e-mails this morning & was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful photo. It's a very cool kid wearing a nice Batman Costume!! It was sent in by a new friend to the Bat-Blog named David. He wrote, "You asked for pics of Batman costumes. Attached you'll find a picture of my son taken around 1992. The costume is a combination of Batman pajamas with a Batman play set that I bought him. His name is JJ and he was about 4." Ha Ha, WOW! Thanks for the great photo David, it's awesome!! I like the expression on kid's faces when they're wearing these Batman costumes. They always look really super-happy & empowered. They also always "strike a fight pose"...great! This photo was sent in response to asking about people sending their pics in so if you have one please e-mail it today.

CATWOMAN CUSTOM ART : Resin Model Kit & Adobe Illustrator Graphic

Included in this post are 2 really great examples of custom Catwoman artwork. The 1st post is a custom-made resin model kit of a Sexy Catwoman...MEOW! I found this while crusin' the net looking for Batman resin kits. This baby is a beautiful masterpiece of ART! I have totally lost the name of the artist & the URL of the website but if you're interesting in purchasing it I can hunt it down for you. The 2nd picture is one done by a friend of mine using, I think, Adobe Illustrator. It's a graphic of Catwoman's face, very minimal, & very well done. Thanks for sharing the picture Rob, great job! If ANY Bat-Blog readers have examples of Bat-Art then please e-mail them to us, we love to share our passion for the Batman characters here.

Custom 1966 BATMOBILE 1/6th Scale Model Kit with Batman & Robin Figures

I recently saw this amazing Custom 1966 Batmobile Model Kit on eBay being offered by Fa_Da_La Toys of San Francisco, California. Look at the photos, it's incredible!! It's a HUGE 1/6th Scale & totally handmade piece of ART! The details are insane. It's modeled after George Barris' Lincoln Futura car from the 1960's TV Show. It also included two 12" Batman & Robin figures. The Batmobile is made of FRP material ( Fiber Re-enforce Plastic ) with some diecast parts, high-gloss finish, ultra detailed chrome rims, & real rubber tires. It measures about 31" L x 12" W x 10 1/2" H. The auction ended on Oct 8th with NO bids but I bet they'll offer it again so if you're interesting then keep an eye out. This would make a very nice gift for me. Send an e-mail for my mailing address. Thank You.

FRED HEMBECK : Batman & The Joker Comic Strip FUNNY HUMOR

For as long as I can remember I've been a HUGE FAN of Fred Hembeck's art. He has a very distinctive style & once you see it you can't forget it, ha ha! He did a lot of funny little spot illustrations for both DC & Marvel, usually small comic strips like this one. Now, he sells his famous comic book cover "re-creations" on eBay. Basically he takes a famous cover from the silver age & completely does it in his own style. They're selling like hotcakes! I wish I could afford one, I love his work, maybe someday. For now I just enjoy his work in print & online. He has a really great blog you can visit. Check our BAT-LINKS page on the left-side of the blog to check it out.

BATMAN BEGINS Movie: Behind The Scenes of Making The Video Game

CUSTOM TOYS : 1960's Batman TV Show Playset Figures

Our friend Don allowed us to use these cool photos of some amazing figures he has sculpted. ( Be sure to click on the small picture to see a larger, more detailed photo ). They are modeled after the characters in the 1966 Batman TV Show. He says they will be made into a mold & cast in plastic. These are sort of like those "Little Green Army Men", Marx Playset Figures, or really more like the figures in the Ideal Batman Playset, a classic 60's toy. So far there is Catwoman, Robin, Batman, The Penguin, Egghead, & King Tut. Wow! You never see any Egghead & King Tut figures, ha ha! If you're interested, here's a web site where they plan to sell them. Looks like they will also be painted with color. http://www.wilsonfigures.com/

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie News : Explosion in London While Filming in England

These were the amazing scenes as Battersea Power Station appeared to explode in the dead of night last night. The emergency services were flooded with calls from local residents who feared the defunct electricity generating plant had been targeted by terrorists. But they were reassured the 200ft fireball, accompanied by columns of grey smoke, which could bee seen for miles across the capital, was a special effect for the latest Batman film. The spectacular stunt scene, in which Batman actor Christian Bale narrowly cheats death, is believed to be the opening sequence of the fifth caped crusader movie The Dark Knight. Resident Marck Jason, 24, of Battersea, said: “I was gobsmacked. I was just walking home and saw this bloody huge explosion. “Obviously my first thought was that it was a terrorist attack and I dialed 999." “I know it’s sort of cool that the place is being used for a film, as its a brilliant building, but a bit of warning wouldn’t have hurt.”

BATMAN TATTOO PHOTO : Bat-Symbol & Harley Quinn

A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named Jason, sent us this wonderful photo of his original Batman Tattoos. He has a large BAT-SYMBOL LOGO on his upper left arm & just below it a beautiful HARLEY QUINN ( Joker's woman ) in a Classic Pin-Up pose. I like both of them a lot! The Bat-Symbol is sharp with good color. Plus, it's the comic book symbol & not a movie version ( good choice ). The picture of Harley Quinn is a great graphic from the best TV Cartoon ever, Batman: The Animated Series...very cool! Thanks again for sending us this awesome photo Jason. If any other readers have Batman-related Bat-Tattoo photographs then please send them.

History : Batman-Related Magazine Covers From The 1960's to the 1990's

This is what I call a "wacky post". It's meant to be humor & also sort of covers Bat-history. ( excuse the pun using the word "covers", ha ha ). Here are some nice examples of Batman, Robin, & Joker being featured on various magazine covers from the mid-1960's to 1995. The 1st picture is the 337th issue of Mad Magazine from July, 1995. It's a funny parody on one of the Batman Movies. Looks like Batman's new sidekick is Alfred E. Neuman, ha ha! The 2nd cover is a classic! It's a vintage copy of TEEN LIFE with a 1960's TV Show color photo showing Adam West & Burt Ward. The caption says, "Batman & Robin invite you to a private inside look at the way they really live & luv", sounds kinda Gaaayyy, ha ha! Plus, "Part 2 of Robin's own true love story"...oh my god! The 3rd picture is a vintage 80's video game magazine called NINTENDO POWER. It features the new 1989 BATMAN MOVIE game. I love that Joker!

Custom Art Graphic : BABY BATMAN On His Batmobile Ride

A nice guy named David, who lives in France ( Lucky! ), sent us this very cool graphic he made of BABY BATMAN ON HIS BATMOBILE RIDE. I think it's a graphic for a T-Shirt he plans to make. Wow! The artwork is really great stuff! I like the minimal colors & the simple graphic-style, sort of "cartoony". I love getting e-mails from Bat-Fans in other countries. I really think it's cool that Batman is so huge everywhere. Thank you David for sending this picture, good job on the artwork!!

Hot Wheels Batmobile 2-Pack : Batman VS Catwoman, Mattel 2004

Just a few years ago, in 2004, Mattel was producing these wonderful "Hot Wheels 2-Packs" that had a Batmobile with another villain car. They did The Joker, Riddler, Bane, etc... Here's the one with the Catwoman Delivery Truck. The graphics are the earlier-version of Catwoman with her "Purple Suit" costume...MEOW! Also, I'm pretty sure the comic book style artwork is by Jim Balent. This is an extremely sweet vehicle!! Be sure to check the Bat-Blog ARCHIVES for other Batman Hot Wheels & older Batman Toys. BATMAN "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" Actually ROBIN, The Boy Wonder!

Here at the Bat-Blog, every Wednesday, we post 2 fresh NEW Batman Wallpapers you can use as a background in a MySpace layout or just to brighten your PC desktop. This time I thought I would go with a "Robin Theme". The 1st wallpaper graphic is taken from a new Batman & Robin Poster you can buy at your local comic book shop. It features art work by Jim Lee! The colors are bright & sharp, very nice quality. The 2nd wallpaper is a cool photograph of the actor who played Robin in the Batman Fan-Made Film titled GRAYSON. It's a modern-day story about Dick Grayson taking over after Batman has been killed. If you have never seen the movie trailer for this it's pretty amazing. remember to check back with us later because we're gonna post it here.

1977 BATMAN TREASURY COMIC BOOK : 1st Ra's Al Ghul Story with Art By Neal Adams.

Do you remember the HUGE over-sized comic books published by both Marvel & DC Comics called TREASURY COMICS? In the mid-1970's, when I was a little kid & seriously into comic books, I used to really love these & still do! ( I wish they would bring them back ). A friend of mine, named Rob, has a website totally devoted to these special books & it's an amazing site. In fact, I stole these pictures from there, ha ha! This issue was devoted to Batman & called LIMITED COLLECTOR'S EDITION #C51 & came out in 1977. Basically it reprinted the Ra's Al Ghul storyline that took place in Batman #232, 242-244. The story & art was done by Neal Adams, Dick Giordano, Irv Novick, & Denny O'Neil. This story was a classic. As sort of a side note: DC Comics recently gave a cash award to Neal Adams for creating the Ra's Al Ghul character because he was used in the new Batman film BATMAN BEGINS. Also, shown here, is the original DC Comics advertisement that was featured in a lot of the comic books at that time. Sometime, if you get the chance, you should check out this site, it's way cool! http://www.treasurycomics.com

SILVER-AGE COMIC BOOK FAN? Check Out DIAL B FOR BLOG Sometime!

Just the other day I noticed a new link to my site from a page called DIAL B FOR BLOG. Now, this was very exciting news for me. Ya see, every webpage I have ever created has had a link to this page because it's really a great site. It's well designed, very informative, has great graphics, & the humor is pretty good. Basically it's all about the history of silver-age comic books & there's a ton of stories about comic book artists, creators, & all the characters we love. The main focus is DC Comics but I think there's some Marvel stuff there too. Now, the reason I was excited about the link back to me was that I didn't even ask for a link! This is a webpage that I have really respected for a long time & it even sort of inspired me to creat this Bat-Blog....and they linked to me!! Wow, be sure to check it out sometime, you'll be glad you did ( When there be sure to check out the ARCHIVES tab ). If you lose this post just be sure to check the BAT-LINKS page. Vintage Batman Video Game: THE REVENGE OF THE JOKER on the Sega Genesis

Here at the olde Bat-Blog we seriously LOVE video games. I received a Playstation 2 for Christmas a few years ago & it's been the best gift...ever! One of my favorite games is the GRAND THEFT AUTO series & I can't wait for the new one to appear. Unfortunely it will be for the Playstation 3 & I might have to wait. I would also like to have an XBox because Halo 3 looks pretty freakin' cool. Besides the new stuff I also, for nostalgic reasons, love the Vintage Video Games. Ya know, the ones from the 1980's & 90's. The graphics were so cheesy ( 8-bit, ha ha ) but they were still a lot of fun! Here's a vintage magazine advertisement for THE REVENGE OF THE JOKER for the Sega Genesis Game Console. It was hyped as super-high tech 16-bit, OOooohhhh! Also, be sure to check out the YouTube video of the game play, pretty funny!

CROMY CLUB : DC Super Heroes Wallpaper Page

I received a message this morning from a Bat-Blog reader who has created a page that is filled with Desktop Wallpapers featuring the art of Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. This is a favorite artist of mine from the 1970's & 80's. He had a very clean unique style, nice sharp lines. He's a really great artist so it was a treat to see work by this guy again. Anyway, the webpage is filled with many different wallpapers featuring different DC characters: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Superman, Aquaman, The Joker, The Flash, & The Green Arrow. Vintage 1970's 7-Eleven Comic Cups with Batman Characters

Thirty-something years ago there was a set of COMIC CUPS given away by 7-Eleven They as a promotional gimmick. They featured DC Comics superheroes with many different Batman characters like Batman, Robin, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, The Joker, Dick Grayson, The Riddler, Alfred, The Penguin, Batgirl, & many more. The 1st picture shows a few of the icee cups as an example. But, the 2nd photo is a graphic check list they released in 1974 showing all 60 cups. I know a lot of Bat-Blog reders are collecting these & this list is a great reference, enjoy.

Vintage Ad : Batman Pitches Hostess Cupcakes

Ok, Do you remember in the late 1970's & early 80's when you would see an ad for Hostess Cupcakes, Twinkies, or Fruit Pies in almost every DC Comic Book? Well, here's an example. I used to really love these because they were made-up to look like an actual comic book page & in some case they "tricked you" into reading them. The story was always the same. Some crime would happen & then the hero would use Twinkies to trick them into giving up...great stuff!
