BATMAN Parody T-Shirt Design: BAT-TUK-TUK

A good friend to the Bat-Blog, named Roger, who's a graphic artist with Ruby Red Designs, sent these pics of a brand-new parody BATMAN T-Shirt he just designed. It shows Batman with his eco-friendly "Batmobile", ha ha! Actually it's a TUK-TUK which is sort of a Taxi Car that is extremely popular in Thailand. I really love those wacky vehicles so to see a "Batman-version" is pretty hilarious! Oh yeah, the name of the T-Shirt is BAT-TUK-TUK. Here's a link if ya want to make a purchase:

BATMAN FAN: Personal Photos & Batman Toys Wallpaper

Yesterday I received a nice e-mail from a very cool girl named Danica. She explained that she's still in High School & a total "Batman Fan". She said that she just started to collect Batmobile Cars & has about 20 so far. Her dog's name is Sadie ( I love that crazy dog! ). She sent these photos of a recent Batman Hoodie she got & also sent a picture of some of her Batman toys. This photo of the Batman Hero-Clix Figure with Corgi Batmobile Car was HUGE, ha ha! But, it's really a super-great image so I thought I would make a Batman Desktop Wallpaper out of it. The photo is kinda grainy & that gives it a "vintage look"...it makes a great background! Thank you Danica for sending the awesome pics, I appreciate that a lot. Keep collecting Batmobiles, have fun with Sadie, & keep wearing Batman T-Shirts. Why? Because Batman is COOL!

Original BATMAN POP ART PAINTING By Doug Bloodworth

I have a friend named Ducki who lives in Florida. There's a local artist there named DOUG BLOODWORTH & while checking out his website she came across this one piece of artwork that she knew I would like. It's a Pop Art Painting with a scene showing a Batman Comic Book & all the fixings for a Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich ( click on it for a larger picture with more detail ). It's done in a sort of photo-realistic style & is totally awesome! Doug is really talented. He sort of bounces around in styles, mainly Western Art & Pop. He also paints murals, billboard, & even commercial buses! Thank you Ducki for sending this & if any readers want to enjoy some more of Doug Bloodworth's art the here's a link to visit his site:

AD VIDEO: Foreign THE DARK KNIGHT TV COMMERCIAL Batman Movie Food Product

This Teaser-Commercial TV Clip, produced as a way of launching the ad campaign for a brand new Batman Food Product called the "5+ Power Meal" by Mlekara Subotica.I'm not even sure what country this is from so if any readers know then please tell me. I apologize for not being so savy with many different languages. At the end of the clip we see that The Dark Knight movie logo reads, "MRACNI VITEZ". It looks like they made both a yogurt snack & maybe flavored milk. The commercial is pretty cool & it's totally driving me crazy not knowing what this stuff is or where it's from, ha ha!

BATMAN AND THE JOKER DESKTOP BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday!

Every Wednesday we post 2 FREE Batman Themed Wallpapers you can use to brighten your desktop! This week I thought I would get into the whole spirit of "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" & do a few that are literally super-wacky! The first one is commercial art that was used in a magazine ad in a foreign country, I think Argentina or maybe Brazil. It totally cracks me up! It has the Dynamic Duo riding a bicycle together. Plus, from an "art direction" point of view, it's pretty cool. The 2nd one is a photo from a recent Mardi Gras Parade. This float has none other than the Prince of Crime himself, The Joker! Whoever made this float is very creative. Well, I hope everybody like these. I know they're kinda crazy but you gotta smile & have fun every now & then, enjoy.

ANNOUNCEMENT: BAT-BLOG SWEEPSTAKES WINNER OF THE HOT WHEELS 1966 BATMOBILE!

OK, Recently here at the Bat-Blog we have been running a small contest to give away a Mint-in-Package Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Car made by Mattel ©2007. Today I received what I felt to be the last entry so I put the numbers in a hat & randomly chose the winner. I wanna thank everybody who entered but as we all know there can be only one winner. That person is... Ryan P. of Calgary, Alberta ( Canada ). Ryan, please contact us to confirm your current mailing address & we'll get this out to you. Personally, I think it's kind of neat that the 1966 Batmobile Car is going out to Canada. I'm not really sure but they might not have had this item in their retail stores out there. Either way, congratulations Ryan! I also want to tell everybody to please stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because we will be having another sweepstakes very soon! ( Oh yeah, as a legal disclamer, this event was not connected to Mattel in any way. We just wanted to give collectors out there, who were unable to find this great toy, a chance to win it ).

BATMAN ART: Fighting Super-Villains by Pablo Canadé

Yesterday I was very surprised to get an e-mail all the way from Argentina! A Bat-Blog Reader named Pablo Canadé wrote me about some of his artwork. He's a very talented Graphic Artist & as you can tell he is totally inspired by both Batman & his Super-Villians. Each portrait has a picture of the Dark Knight in combat with a different foe: The Joker, Catwoman, & The Riddler. Thanks for sending these Pablo, they're really really GREAT! Keep up the good work. Readers, please be sure to check out his website sometime. There's more bat-goodies there to enjoy.

THE JOKER Munny Figure & Batman / Joker Sneakers by Zac Conley!

I have said many times that if the Bat-Blog is any good at all it's because of the readers. They always send me really great material! Here's the perfect example: The other day I came across this Joker Munny Figure on the internet. I tracked down the artist & told him, "You better send me some pics, ha ha!". Well, graciously, he did. This is Zac Conley's Custom JOKER Munny Figure. It's pretty cool. I love the demonic expression on his face, like he's ready to kill somebody, actually he's kinda scary! Zac also made some Custom Sneakers with a Batman & Joker motif. I thought it was sort-of funny how his photos break down the fact that "this is the right foot & this is the left"...but, that's clever. Anyway, these shoes are too good to wear & should be displayed as ART! Good job Zac & thanks for sending the pics. Now I don't have to come to your house to beat you up!

NEW BATMAN BOOK : THE BATCAVE COMPANION Coming Out in April!

OK, I know it's about 2 months away but I'm really excited about a new book coming out by TwoMorrow's Publishing called THE BATCAVE COMPANION! The delays are over, and it’s finally in print! Michael Eury, the writer/editor of the critically acclaimed The Krypton Companion, and Michael Kronenberg, the designer of the eye-popping Spies, Vixens, and Masters of Kung Fu: The Art of Paul Gulacy, team up to explore the Silver and Bronze Ages of Batman comic books in The Batcave Companion! Two distinct sections of this book examine the Dark Knight’s progression from his campy “New Look” of the mid-1960s to his “creature of the night” reinvention of the 1970s. Features include issue-by-issue indexes, interviews with CARMINE INFANTINO, JOE GIELLA, DENNIS O’NEIL, and NEAL ADAMS, and guest essays by MIKE W. BARR and WILL MURRAY. Contributors include SHELDON MOLDOFF, LEN WEIN, STEVE ENGLEHART, and TERRY AUSTIN, with a special tribute to the late MARSHALL ROGERS. With its incisive introduction by Dennis O’Neil and its iconic cover painting by Neal Adams, The Batcave Companion is a must-have for every Bat-Fanatic & comics fan! It's due to be released around April 15th, 2009. Here's a link for more information:

1966 BATMOBILE REPLICA CAR From The BATMAN TV SHOW Desktop Wallpapers

A good friend to the Bat-Blog, named Mark Racop, is in the business of making 1966 Batmobile Replica Cars. I gotta tell you that these cars are pretty amazing! I mean, the attention to every single tiny detail is totally insane! Well, recently, he posted a few hi-res desktop wallpapers of the cars he makes. I thought I would share a few here ( there are many more at his website ) & also give a shout out to his website. ART: COMIC BOOK SUPERHEROES Painting by Allan Sanders

Last night I was goofing around on the internet when suddenly I discovered an extremely funny and very well drawn illustration of DC & Marvel Superheroes ( Click on the image up above for a larger, more detailed, version ). Actually it's a painting that was recently shown in the "Hot Rods & Hairy Beasts" art exhibit at the Coningsby Gallery, in London. The artist's name is Allen Sanders & he's from Brighton, UK. I thought I would post it here because it does have Batman, Robin, & the Batmobile! I had to find out more about this guy. So, I discovered that he has a website / blog called LOOPLAND. Be sure to visit sometime because his work is pretty cool. Here's a link:

Video: How To Make THE JOKER with Balloon Animals

A friend sent this link & it's pretty funny. I also think it's a cool craft project for a little kid's Batman-themed birthday party. This instructional video tells you how to make a JOKER ACTION FIGURE with balloons. Ya know, like "Balloon Animals". The end effect is pretty cool looking! Oh yeah, I guess I should say that it's the "Mark Hamill version" from Batman: The Animated Series & NOT the Heath Ledger Dark Knight movie character.

The ORIGINAL 1966 BATMOBILE MESSAGE BOARD Celebrates it's 10th Year Anniversary!

I need to send a shout out to my good friend Eric Seltzer & congratulate him on the 10th Year Anniversary of his ORIGINAL 1966 BATMOBILE MESSAGE BOARD! I've been a member there for quite awhile & though I do not get to participate as much as I like it's really a great site that is totally dedicated to the original 1966 Batmobile Car designed by George Barris. I mean, the information there is totally insane! You can tell that Eric is a true Fan & really loves this piece of bat-history. You can also tell, from the attention to detail, that it's a labor of love. That's awesome! So, Eric...here's looking forward to the next 10 years, keep up the good work, & thank you. I guess I should say that I stole this photo of Eric from his website. It shows him in the original, totally authentic, NUMBER ONE Batmobile...the real deal!

BATMAN WALLPAPER BACKGROUNDS : 1966 TV Show and The Dark Knight Movie

It's Wednesday, so you know it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" again! This week I thought I would post "something old & something new". So, here's a wallpaper featuring Adam West & Burt Ward as the Dynamic Duo. I love the low camera angle on this shot & it's just kinda fun. The 2nd background was done by a friend of the Bat-Blog, named Matt, who likes to manipulate imagery from The Dark Knight Batman movie. Here he shows Heath Ledger's Joker after he has been arrested. I hope you enjoy both of these but if not then just click on the button down below to see many more. I also suggest going through the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for every single wallpaper we have ever posted ( there are hundreds of them! ). The archives are located on the lower left-hand side of this page.

Vintage Magazines with a 1966 TV Batman Theme

One area of Batman Collecting that some collectors like to get into are the old Vintage Magazine Covers that feature Batman in some way. Here are 2 really great examples. One cover has a story about "Batman Getting Married" & it's kinda weird. It's the May 1966 issue of Pageant Magazine, which I guess was directed towards marriage-minded women...OUCH! The art direction on this is very provocative. Speaking of "provocative", the next cover features our favorite Catwoman, Julie Newmar...MEOW! It's the June 1964 issue of LOOK Magazine. Wow, it came out 2 years before the Batman TV Show. Anyway, she looks as lovely as ever as she prepares an outdoor meal, ha ha!

ART: BATMAN MASK Paper Craft Project ( Adam West 1966 Cowl )

A friend sent me this link to a very cool art project that everybody can do ( Thanks Brian, you ROCK, Sir ). Basically you print the PDF file, cut it out, & you have a Paper Batman Mask! I suggest using some kind of card stock. I can't wait to make mine, ha ha! It sort of reminds me of the cowl worn by Adam West in the 1960's TV Show...AWESOME! Come to think of it these would be very cool to make for a little kid's birthday party. The mask was created by a very talented artist named Katie. Here's a link to her page:

VIDEO: BATMAN - The Animated Series TV Show Theme Song Intro in Italian : Cavaliere Della Notte

When I came across this video the other day I knew it had to be posted, it's so RARE & AWESOME! This is actual footage taped off of Italy TV for the Batman: The Animated Series ( Actually, The New Batman Adventures, but same thing! ). The theme song is in Italian and it's very interesting! I don't know why but I love to see unusual stuff like this. It's great that Batman is so popular all over the world. The show is titled "Cavaliere Della Notte" which, I think, means "Knight of The Night"...enjoy!

(( SPOILER ALERT )) HOT TOYS Finally Reveals The "Mystery Figure" in the Batman Cosbaby Set

You might remember the previous posts we did about the very cool Hot Toys BATMAN COSBABY Figures. They're making Classic Batman, Modern Batman, Robin, Batgirl, The Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, & a "Mystery Figure"! Well that figure has finally been revealed...it's NIGHTWING! I knew it was gonna be him, ha ha! I know this has been news for a little while but I didn't want the surpirse to be ruined so I thought I would let it become more commonly known before revealing it. The additional vinyl figure looks pretty AWESOME! I really love these. They're so gosh darn cute, goo goo.

THE VENTURE BROS ( Adult Swim ) Vintage Batman Costume Appearance!

OK, One of my favorite shows on the Adult Swim channel is an animated series called THE VENTURE BROS. The animation quality is really good, the stories are well-written, overall it's just a really great TV show. Well, because of my strange working schedule I seem to miss it a lot so every now & then I go to their official website to enjoy an episode or two. You can view them online & the quality is pretty decent. Anyway, the other night I went there & they had just posted an episode where, in the beginning of the show, the Venture Bros were returning home from a costume contest. The Dad was upset because they lost. The reason, they were all dressed-up like Star Wars characters except for one of the sons who dressed like Batman, ha ha! In fact it was one of the old original Halloween costumes. I could not believe it, it was hilarious! So, I thought they would just show this for a small moment but he actually wears the costume during the entire episode, it's hilarious!

TOY FAIR 2009: Batman The Brave and The Bold MINIS Action Figure Packaging

Like as if the regular Batman: The Brave and The Bold action figure line wasn't enough Mattel is ALSO going to make some smaller, cuter, figures called MINIS. We have reported on all of these before but here's a new photo showing what the packaging is gonna look like. We also found a newer photo of the cute Batmobile Car that I know everybody is gonna totally want! So far I'm really loving this animated TV Series but GOD, do they have to make so many toys to torture me? Ha Ha!

TOY FAIR 2009: Batman The Brave and The Bold BATMOBILE CAR Action Figure Vehicle

Another big news item for Batman: The Brave and The Bold Action Figure line by Mattel at this years TOY FAIR 2009 was the release of the new BATMOBILE CAR Vehicle. The cool thing about it is that it will transform from a car into the Bat-Plane ( or is that "Bat-Jet" ? ). Either way it's totally AWESOME!! I'm really excited about this new toy & I gotta have it!

TOY FAIR 2009: Batman The Brave and The Bold Action Figures by Mattel

Every year at the annual Toy Fair Convention there is always a toy that really stands out & is always a big surprise. This year, 2009, the big news was that The Joker must be appearing in a future episode of Batman: The Brave and The Bold because Mattel is adding THE JOKER action figure to the next wave of toys. OMG, He looks amazing! This one is defiantly gonna be a "must have" toy for collectors! Now, all the other figures are characters we all already know because they have already been featured on the Cartoon Network animated TV show: Sports Master, Despero, B'Wana Beast, Gentleman Ghost, Plastic Man, Green Arrow, The Atom, The Joker, and, of course, Batman ( 7 different versions of him to be exact, ha ha ). So, what do you think about the "New Joker"?

Batman's Mardi Gras and New Orleans' Connection

I thought this was kinda weird! Recently 2 Bat-Blog Readers ( who don't know each other ) sent me some pictures that are related to New Orleans & Mardi Gras. I mean, what are the odds of that!? I thought it was a good omen & decided to post them together. The 1st photo is from a friend named "Mo" who wanted to share this pic of "Batman at Mardi Gras". It's a parade float with a HUGE Batman on it...how awesome is that!? With the actual event for 2009 just a few days away I thought it would be fun to see this. Let's hope they do another Batman-Themed Float this year! The next one is even more obscure & older. It's a local advertisement in a flyer for an event in New Orleans where Adam West had appeared. The local ad was for a Grocery Store & the graphic was a Jar of 1966 BATMAN PEANUT BUTTER!! Oh man, this wacky bat-item is super-RARE! Not just the ad but the actual jar too, ha ha! Thanks to Mo & Jeff for sending these, I appreciate that!

HUMOR: THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Parody, HA HA!

Here's a couple of THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie-related comic strips sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader. One is a parody of the famous "WHY SO SERIOUS?" line spoken by The Joker... except it's Curious George the Monkey. The next one is simply titled THE DORK KNIGHT. They're both great! ( Thanks for sending those in ).

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie HESBURGER Fast Food Restaurant Promotion in Finland

Now that The Dark Knight Batman movie has been out awhile some of the more obscure information about it's promotion is starting to reach us here in the US. Like, I didn't know, that during the film's release in Finland they had a "Happy Meal-Type Set of Toys" in their fast food restaurants called Hesburger. I mean, I have NEVER even heard of Hesburger! ( It looks a lot like McDonalds or Burger King ). Anyway, they had a set of 5 promo toys for The Dark Knight. The ONLY information I have is some of the graphics from their old website but I can't read anything there because it's totally in Finnish. I think it happened a few months ago & I do know that right now they are hyping the new Pink Panther 2 movie so these TDK Toys are not out now. If there are any English-speaking Bat-Blog Readers who understand Finnish, or know of Hesburgers, then please let me know. The toys seem kinda cool but are also sort of generic. I can't make them all out from just the photo but a few items look like a Velcro-Ball Dart Board Game, maybe a Small Bat-Shaped Kite, a Paddle Game ( the kind where you catch velco-balls on a piece of cloth material-covered disks ), a Dark Knight Hacky Sack ( very cool, I love Hacky! ), & maybe a small Soccer Ball-Type Ball. Sorry, I can't translate anything at the site & the pictures are kind of vague. But, check out the pic up above & you'll see. I guess I should mention that if there are any readers who live outside the US, and know about any wacky Batman Toys ( fast food or not ) then please let me know so I can share that info. The main purpose of the Bat-Blog is sharing the love of collecting the RARE Batman merchandise!

CUSTOM MEGO DOLLS : Batman, Robin, Gordon, & The Penguin!

I recently got an e-mail from a loyal Bat-Blog Reader named Roberto who wrote, "I LOVE your Batman collectibles blog!! My name’s Roberto Williams, and I’m a 42 year old Batman fan / toy collector / custom toy artist from Brooklyn, New York. I’d like to donate a pair of images of some Batman-related works that I’ve created. Perhaps you’d be interested in using them in your blog: First is an unfinished Batman and Robin Pencil drawing. This media on this piece is drawing pencil on Masonite board measuring 6 feet X 4 feet. The next three images are photos of some custom MEGO 8 inch scaled action figures I made: The Penguin, Commissioner Jim Gordon, and The Dynamic Duo. I hope you enjoy my work." Enjoy your work? Oh my GOD! These are totally amazing!! Seriously, I really love the custom work on these Mego dolls. The head sculpts are great & the attention to details on the clothing / costumes is awesome! Thank you so much for sending these. Also, when looking at the pencil sketch of Batman & Robin, I had NO idea this thing was so HUGE! That's very cool. I love when Bat-Fans get totally creative & make true ART like this. Thanks again Roberto & keep up the good work! Hey, if you make some more stuff then keep us updated! I also want to invite all other artists to send in their work too.

RUN BATMAN RUN! Online Flash Video Game From Comedy Central

How did this cool Batman-Parody video game get off my radar screen? It's called RUN BATMAN RUN! Comedy Central made a funny online game to play that sort of makes fun of Christian Bale when he was arrested awhile back in the UK, you know, during the Dark Knight UK Movie Promotion Tour. Basically you're Batman & you're running away from the police. There are obstacles in your way, like Fire Hydrants & Postal Mail Boxes, and you have to jump over them while running. Surprisingly the game is very entertaining. Well, I thought it was pretty fun, ha ha! Just give it a try & play it once or twice, you'll get the hang of it pretty easy & then go crazy! To visit the game site just click on the Christian Bale graphic up above. When ya get there just click that SKIP AD button.

BATMAN, NIGHTWING, & MAN-BAT Desktop Wallpapers

Hey, you know what time it is...Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday™! Yes Sir, every Wed we post 2 FREE Batman-Themed Backgrounds for you to enjoy. But this week I thought I would post THREE because I am so cool, ha ha! Actually, the reason I'm doing 3 of them is because I'm trying to make each one as unique as possible. In other words, they are all very different characters...ya know, diversity! The 1st one is using a graphic from the new Batman: The Brave and The Bold cartoon with a real-life photo background. ( Let me know what ya think of that effect ). Then, the 2nd one is a really sharp CGI graphic of the MAN-BAT Villain from the new Lego Batman: The Video Game. This game is really popular. Last, but not least, is a brand-new image of Nightwing. I'm hoping these last 2 are "obscure" enough that somebody out there will appreciate them. I mean, you just don't see these 2 characters that often & believe me, if you need just backgrounds of "Batman" we have around 3000 here at the Bat-Blog - Check the Bat-Archives, lower left-hand side. ( OK, 3000 is an exageration but the number is close! ) If you have a favorite Batman character you'd like to see as wallpaper then please let us know...we aim to please.

Vintage Video: ADAM WEST BATMAN INTERVIEW Where Were You? 1966 John Johnson on WABC TV

This video segment was taken from the short-lived TV show which aired locally on Channel 7 WABC in NYC. WHERE WERE YOU? contained a segment called "Whatever Happened To...?". This was an update on Batman's Adam West, who in 1981 ( when this aired ) speaks about an upcoming movie based on Batman ( Tim Burton's 1989 Batman ), and what he was up to at that time.

Vintage Toy Ad: CAPTAIN ACTION Doll with BATMAN Figure Outfit

A good friend named Jimmy sent me this very cool picture of a real-life advertisement from an old vintage comic book ( Click on the above graphic for a larger photo ). It's for a classic 1960's toy called CAPTAIN ACTION! He thought I would like to share it because the ad shows the very cool Batman Outfit. Yes, thank you Jimmy, this is pretty cool! If you have never heard of these dolls, I mean "action figures", then you're missing out on a very interesting piece of vintage toy history. These were made by the Ideal Toy Company & the basic concept was that they sold these "GI Joe-sized" dolls & made different outfits you could buy separately. The "costumes" included Superman, The Phantom, Captain America, Aquaman, among others. They also had another figure, a side kick named ACTION BOY & he had suits too. In fact he was Robin, The Boy Wonder!

DC BATMAN: Batbaby Baby Bao 10" Art Doll Figure by Dorophy Tang

Recently a famous Hong Kong artist and designer named Dorophy Tang released a few Batman Parody illustrations that became quite popular. The "fake Batman comic book covers" were called BATBABY & they were inspired by Chinese Boy imagery combined with American Superhero iconography. So, to capitalize on the success of her art, she will be releasing this very limited 10" vinyl figure doll called "BATBABY BABY BAO". So limited in fact that only 300 will be made & the rumor is that they will retail for around $165.00 ( American Dollars ). Personally, I think it's pretty cool! It really cracks me up. The funny thing is, for this post, I was researching the "Bat-Baby Prints" & at almost the same time a reader ( named BATFAN ) sent me these photos of the doll....WOW! Now, how weird is THAT!! After such a good omen like that I knew it was going to be a good post, ha ha! Also, I hope she makes one of Robin The Boy Wonder too!! Thanks BATFAN!

Funny BATMAN Comic Strip & Humor Photos

HA HA HA HA! Here's a nice assortment of very humorous comic strips, photos, & pictures that are all Batman-related. The 1st one is a parody of the Pokemon Pikachu character, it kinda cracks me up. Then there's the popular "Dark Knight" photo comic strip with Batman & Joker. Then the last one is a comic that appeared in a British Newspaper & was done around the time that Christian Bale was arrested in the UK. It was during the Dark Knight Batman movie premiere there & not the "Terminator Movie Set Scandal" that's going on now. I guess the lady is his Mother? I found one of them on MySpace & the others were sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader. Speaking of MySpace, if you're a member then please add me! Here's a link:

Many Batman Fans will recognize the artwork used is from THE KILLING JOKE Graphic Novel with original art by Brian Bolland ( shown in the photo on the right side ). VIDEO: Fan-Made 1966 BATMAN MOVIE TRIBUTE "Some Days You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb!"

This fan-made video is really GREAT! It's the kind of tribute to Batman I really like to see...fans just having fun! In this clip we see 2 guys dressed up as Batman & Robin wearing costumes like the 1966 TV Show with Adam West & Burt Ward. This event happened at a Comic Book Convention called THE SUPER MEGAFEST in Framingham, MA on 11/22/08. I can only imagine what people thought when they saw this. I'm sure everyone knew "what this moment was" & totally cracked up, ha ha! The costumes are very well made. They do a parody of the "Some Days You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb" from the 1960's Batman movie & it's totally funny...enjoy!

CUSTOM ART: GOLDEN AGE BATMAN and DOCTOR DEATH Dolls / Action Figures

Here are a set of 2 totally amazing custom-made dolls of a Golden Age Batman & Doctor Death. They were sold on eBay awhile back & I was extremely impressed with their craft & attention to details. Before I get into this post too far I want to apologize to the artist who made these because I forgot to get his name to give him credit. I had bookmarked the information & now, later, I can't find them. I searched forever! But, while these photos were sitting in my bat-folder for a long time I knew I had to get them up here anyway so, sorry. Basically, there's a Batman Fan out there who is extremely creative & was inspired by some 1930's & 1940's Batman stories to create these 2 Custom Dolls. These figures really deserve to be called ART MASTERPIECES because they are so extremely well done. One, of course, is BATMAN, who we all know. But the other one might be a character that some Bat-Blog readers are unfamiliar with. His name is DOCTOR DEATH ( real name: Doctor Karl Hellfern). Basically he was Batman's very 1st "Super-Villain". He first appeared in Detective Comics # 29 in July 1939. This book was Batman's very third appearance as a character so it's an extremely "early story". His deal was he liked to kidnap very wealthy people, inject them with a toxic poison, & then hold the antidote for a ransom of very large sums of money. Yeah, a real wack-job! The artist who created these did them with amazing detail. he sculpted the heads, painted them, created the clothing & costumes, and even made some props. I had to share these because they are so beautiful, really, & if any reader knows the artist who made them please let me know so I can get his name in here. For now, just please enjoy the pictures. Click on them for larger, sharper, verisons ( they're nice ). As a side note: the very last photo is a Detective Comics # 35 comic book ( January 1940 ) that was recently auctioned off by Heritage Auction Galleries in 2006 for almost $18,000.00!! Yes, Eighteen-Thousand!!

We showed those photos a few posts ago ( scan down for them ) but he also sent along this photo that I decided to wait on. So, here it is now. It shows the HUGE Batman Logo Bat-Symbol on his chest. It's really awesome! Don't believe me? Check out the photo, ha ha! Hey Michael, thanks for sending along all the great pix to share, I appreciate that. Vintage 1966 George Barris Batmobile Car Spotted in Modern Day NIGHTWING Comic Book

A friend named Dave sent this pic because he knows I don't read NIGHTWING comics but in a recent issue ( # 152 ) they had an event that happened in the Bat-Cave & Nightwing used the 1966 Batmobile Car ( the one you normally see in the 1960's Batman TV Show with Adam West & Burt Ward ) to run down a few ninjas! The car looks awesome, in all it's glory! Plus, it's kinda funny to see it in a modern day comic book, ha ha! Thank Dave for sharing this. Readers, be sure to click on the above graphic for a larger, more detailed, photo!

Vintage BATMAN 8mm Film Movie MEMORABILIA Magazine Ad

The other day a friend sent me this photo of an old magazine ad he found. He said, "Hey Tommy, Do you remember those old Monster Magazines from the 60's & 70's? Ya know, the ones that were all black & white inside. Well, I found one with this ad in the back I knew you would like". I said, "Wow! yeah, this is an awesome piece of Bat-History, thanks!" The ad is for those old vintage 8mm film reels you could buy to watch on the wall at home. This set is for the BATMAN SERIAL MOVIES from the 1940's. Now, the thing that makes this pic so cool is take a look at the store display box!! These movies were sold in small boxes & when we find them they're usually there but that special "store counter box" used to display them is extremely super-rare! Now, everybody, please excuse the 2nd photo being kinda blurry but what I did was blow it up to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about...that display box is AWESOME! Thanks Dave for sending the cool photo, I appreciate that!
