Desmond the Batman Fan Sporting His New BAT-HAT!

Here's a fun photo we're proud to share because it features our good bat-buddy, Desmond! This cool kid is crazy for Batman and he wanted to show us this fun new hat he got for Christmas. It's a Fedora with a Bat-Symbol Logo on the side. Oh man, that is so AWESOME!!

Thanks Desmond, now I'm totally jealous, ha! But, seriously, your new hat is extremely cool! ( Yes, I'm still jealous! )

Custom Bat-Cycle Inspired by the 1989 BATMAN Movie Batmobile!

OK, I'm not really sure what these sort of vehicles are called but they're basically 3-wheeled motorcycles. Well, recently these "tricycles" have become extremely popular with people who love customizing stuff.

Here's one I came across randomly on the Internet and, as you can see, it's design is inspired by the Batmobile Car from the 1989 Michael Keaton BATMAN Movie... AWESOME!!

BATMAN FAN? Please Support SUPERHEROES FOR KIDS!

Practically every superhero legend is the story of an ordinary person who finds a power that either he/she didn't know they had. An ordinary guy named Lenny B. Robinson learned if he dawns his cape and climbs into his Batmobile he can change the lives of sick children.

In March 2012 the cyberworld was introduced to Lenny B. Robinson, a Baltimore Maryland based business man who was pulled over by police dressed up as Batman --Batmobile and all -- in Silver Spring, Md. He was pulled over for a problem with his plates. This wouldn’t ordinarily make international news, but the car was his black Lamborghini, the license plate was the Batman symbol, and the driver was dressed head-to-toe in a full Batman costume.  When videos of this masked Batman went viral, the Caped Crusader's true intentions came to light for the world to see. It turns out Robinson is a real life hero.

Robinson, 48, has been visiting sick children in hospitals in the Baltimore area monthly since 2001, and has now ventured out nationally, and soon internationally, to bring his superhero to thousands of sick children in hospitals around the globe. He also visits schools to talk about bullying, but he does not do birthday parties. Trading in his Lamborghini for a custom-made Batmobile, that debuting in Coeur d’Alene Idaho on the 4th of July 2012, Lenny traveled around the country in July 2012 giving out Batman toys and goodies to hundreds of kids in children’s hospitals along the route.

To read more about Lenny's further adventures please be sure to visit his website. Also, while you're there, please be sure to make a donation. Thanks.

RACK TOYS - A New Book For Vintage Toy Collectors

Here's some information about a brand-new book coming out ( actually you can order it right now ) that a ton of serious Vintage Toy Collectors are gonna want, it's all about RACK TOYS! You remember these. They had colorful packaging and hung from your Grocery or Drug Store shelves ( my childhood memory was mostly seeing these toys at my local 7-eleven and I always went nuts for them ). They were designed to entice you while you sat in your parent's shopping cart.

Some Vintage Toy Collectors call these "shut-up toys" because, often, these terribly made playthings were low-priced enough to wear down even the most frugal adult and were most likely forgotten or broken by the time you left the parking lot.

"RACK TOYS: Cheap, Crazed Playthings" is a love letter to re-purposed, illogically licensed toys that were not meant to be remembered.

I have a few of these items in my Personal Toy Collection, mostly Batman ( of course ) but also some with Underdog Cartoon Graphics, Sid and Marty Krofft's Land of The Lost, and TV's Star Trek.

Shipping now, this 144 page book describes itself as “a celebration of fun toys that broke super easy” and breaks it’s subject matter into categories such as Science Fiction, Monsters, Superheroes, Generic Rack Toys, Knock Offs and demonstrates  how these odd toys are actually more fun because of their illogical and sometimes, thoughtless nature.

“Even as kids we knew that the Incredible Hulk didn’t need a helicopter and that Dr Zauis from Planet of Apes had no business floating down on a parachute” explains Rack Toys author Brian Heiler “However, that didn’t stop us from having a fun afternoon with them, until they got stuck in a tree that is.”

Rack Toys is available for $19.95 at Amazon.com or through the book’s official website:

New DC Comics BATMAN FAMILY Car Window Decals

OK, we have all seen those annoying "stick figure family" stickers on mini-vans and thought they were pretty lame, ha ha! Well, here are some new ones from DC Comics that are kinda cool! Yes, here are some brand-new white die-cut vinyl-sticker decals that you can put on the back windshield of your car, truck or van.

They made ones of Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman, The Joker and Harley Quinn. I'm actually going to buy one ( either Batman or Batgirl ) to put on the side of my computer tower. You know, because I'm super cool! ( My Mom said I was ).

Whoops, I should also note that they added some new ones that I found out about very last minute while actually doing this post. They are: Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Cyborg, and The Flash. Oh yeah, while the other stickers shown today all have a retro-style artwork, these last six I mention here are modern "New 52" versions.

Bat-Blog Book Review - BAT BAD GIRLS ( 1966 Batman TV Show ) by Renato D' Angelo

HEY KIDS! It's time once again for another BAT-BLOG Book Review! Yes, just recently we received an advance copy of a brand-new book published in Argentina ( written in English ). It's title is BAT BAD GIRLS and it's basically a "Pictorial Selection of Female Villains and Henchgirls from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show starring Adam West & Burt Ward. It was written by an extremely serious Batman Fan named Renato D' Angelo. We should also note that this book is so new that it is not listed on Amazon.Com yet, but it is available now at the Publisher's website, CLICK HERE.

OK, first off, this is a large-format Paperback Book measuring almost 8 1/2" X 11 3/4" with 36 pages. It has a bright-colored Matt-finish Cover ( shown up above ) that shows the claws of one of our favorite Female Villains, Catwoman! That image sets the premise for this book purrfectly because the main subjects of this book are the Actresses who played Villains or Hench-women on the Classic 60's TV Series.

This book is loaded with wonderful hard-to-find color pictures of Promotional Press Photos and scenes from the actual TV Show.

The List of  Actresses/Villains includes:

Jill St. John as Molly, Myrna Fahey as Blaze, Donna Loren as Susie the Cheerleader, Anne Baxter as Zelda, Sherry Jackson as Pauline, Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Francie York as Lyndia Limpet, Nancy Kovack as Queenie, Susan Silo as Mousey, Julie Gregg as Finella, Linda Scott as Moth, Terry Moore as Venus, Lee Meriwether as The Catwoman ( Movie Version ), Kathy Kersh as Cornelia ( One of my personal favorites ), Tisha Sterling as Legs, Carolyn Jones as Marsha, Lesley Gore as Pussycat, Phyllis Douglas as Josie, Deanna Lund as Anna Gram, Sharyn Wynters as Eenie, Leslie Parrish as Glacia Glaze, Anne Baxter as Olga ( Yes, she was so popular she played 2 different Villains, ha! ), Lyn Peters as Lady Prudence, Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, and Joan Collins as The Siren.

Whew! That's a huge list! Now, my only gripe about the book is that it's only 36 pages. But, it does contain a ton of great photos that are really hard to find and also contains some obscure information... so that's cool. Plus, it's a total joy to look at. Seriously, this book brings back a lot of fond memories from my childhood.

Fun BATMAN CHRISTMAS Graphics and Humor

Since Christmas is just 5 or 6 days away I thought I'd post some wacky BATMAN Christmas Graphics and Humor Photos. I have to admit that I'm not really in the Xmas spirit this year but I am obsessed with trying to help TOYS FOR TOTS because, seriously, it's a great children charity.

TOYS FOR TOTS has "Drop-Off Box" Locations spread around in every city and when you go to one you can just throw a couple of packaged toys in there. These items are then collected by US Marines and distributed as Christmas Gifts to needy kids. Please consider donating, it's easy to do and you will help give some poor little kid a wonderful holiday and a lasting memory.

French BATMAN Merchandise and Collectibles - From France!!

Here's a quick post to share some really fun pics sent in to us by our good friend Andrew who lives in Europe. Yes, these are "French and British" items! Something else that's interesting is that they are "something old and something new".

First the OLD item:
Here's an empty package of some BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Potato Chips ( There, they call them "crisps" ) with beautiful graphics. These crisps were pretty rare even in UK, produced by Tayto of Northern Ireland. These came out around 1994.

Now the NEW:
This is a photo taken of a recent advertisement from a French Newspaper. When I say "recent", it was just a few days ago. So, this is stuff you can buy right now... if you live there, ha! It advertises a new line of DC Comics Superhero merchandise. Yeah, we're talkin' Batman, Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman. As you can see they're mostly home decorating items like Bedding, Storage Boxes, Blankets, Pillows, Bathroom Accessories, etc... very cool! ( Thanks Andrew! )

BATMAN AND ROBIN - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

HEY KIDS! It's time once again when we present a few BATMAN WALLPAPERS to brighten your desktop. So, here we go! For the 1st one I used some artwork I found online. It's from the 1980's so it has a very retro-style feel about it. Hope you enjoy it. If not, then here's another one that is more modern. This is the BATMAN TRIBUTE STATUE they showed at the end of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Movie.

Video Review - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES "Broken Cowl" Limited Edition Blu-Ray DVD Set

BATMAN TOYS and GIFT IDEAS For Stuffing Inside That Christmas Stocking

While looking at some recent photos I have collected to report on new Batman Merchandise I noticed that all of these are kind of small in size & would make perfect "Christmas Stocking Stuffer" ideas. Well, the 1st item is a total no-brainer as it is already "Holiday-related". This is a large-sized BATMAN Candy Cane with great packaging, the graphics are awesome. I found it at Toys-R-Us for about $2.00.

Next, is a fun new item I spotted at a Family Dollar Store. It's an extremely nice set of PVC Figures of Batman, Robin, and The Joker. They measure about 2" tall & you get 3 per package for $5.00, not bad. The quality is really nice. They also have 3 different sets. There's one that has 3 figures that are all Batman, in different poses, and another one that has Batman, Flash, & Green Lantern. My photo shows them as they appear on the back of the box.

Last, is this fun BATMAN and TWO-FACE Bath Foam Set. I came across these at a Dollar General Store for only $4.00. Now, I'll admit they are kinda dumb but I totally love the graphics on these. Plus, later these sort of items will not really appear at Garage Sales or anything because people who buy them will use them up & throw them away. So, if you want one for display, grab it now.

Have YOU come across any brand-new pieces of unusual Batman Toys or Memorabilia? If so then please let us know, our e-mail button is always located at the top right-hand side of this page, thanks!

Christmas Gift Idea - BATMAN PIGGY BANK Spotted at Wal-Mart

Here's a silly item that Batman Fans in your family might enjoy, a BATMAN Ceramic Piggy Bank! This fun photo was sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader who was excited about a recent find. He said he bought this at his local Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks. Hey, that's a good deal!

VIDEO - KNIGHT CLASS BEGINS: PROFESSOR BATMAN

When BATMAN is not fighting crime in Gotham City, he is teaching at the local Community College, ha ha!

Hot Wheels Set To Re-Release 1966 BATMAN TV Show BATMOBILE

Here's some fun news for Hot Wheels Collectors. Mattel has announced they will be re-releasing the BATMAN Classic TV Series 1966 BATMOBILE Car... again.  It will be Car# 62/250.

This time it will have a clear windshield and I think the tire rims might be different?? I don't have my other version to check, but they do seem different for some weird reason. The other difference is there is more red pinstriping on the front & rear, plus dark grey pinstriping on the sides, front, & rear. Anyways, if you missed out on getting one of these the last time then this will be your chance. Oh yeah, these are in stores right now! ( Thanks Jerrmin )
