Eaglemoss Collections, the UK company that brought us the cool "DC Superhero Figurines", is now coming out with a new collection of Batmobiles! These new cars are die-cast, 1:43 Scale, & come inside a presentation case that has a 3D lenticular backdrop. Also, each car comes with a collectible 12-page magazine that gives the history of the vehicle. The 1st car in the BATMAN AUTOMOBILIA Series will be the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman Movie! Then, they're making the 1966 Batmobile from the Classic TV Show!
Here's a list of the five cars in the 1st wave:
1989 Batman Movie
1966 Batman TV Show
2005 Batman Begins Movie
2009 Comic Book Version
1944 Comics Version
They plan on continuing the collection & those cars, in the 2nd wave, will include: 1992 The Animated Series, 1985 Comic Book Version, 1939 Comics, 1995 Comics, & 2008 The Dark Knight Movie Bat-Pod!
Oh man, these sound really great! Plus, the production photos of the 1st five cars so far look really really good, I'm totally excited!! Now the bad news: I gotta say that these cars will take a little trouble to find in the US. You see, they're made in the UK exclusively for the European Market & will only be made available in the USA through special outlets. One rumor I've heard is that they might be distributed through Diamond Distributors, they supply American Comic Book Stores with product. So, you might check one of those. Another source will be a few online stores that do ship in the US. Once I get that list compiled I will be doing another post here so be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog!
Batman is on the cover of this month's YALE Alumni Magazine! No, seriously! Some very serious Scholars have done a lot of research and found more than one example of proof that Bruce Wayne, while in his early "Batman training days", had gone to Yale & even got a Diploma! They cite "Detective Comics # 439, page 16" where there's an image of Batman standing in Bruce Wayne's office & it shows a framed YALE Diploma on the wall, ha! They also use the proof from another piece of Bat-Hstory where Batman is looking at a Wayne Family Photo Album & there's a picture of his Grandfather wearing a Yale Football Uniform & there's some comment about 3 generations of the Wayne Family going there. There are also many more fun references that are total proof that "Batman Went To Yale", ha! For the complete story be sure to visit the YALE Alumni Magazine website, just click HERE!
Side Note: Remember that there are different articles to read online, just look for the "March/April 2011" issue.
Here's a brand new "collectible item" for Bat-Fans who love the old 1966 BATMAN TV Show, Adam West & Burt Ward are on the cover of GLOBE! Yes, this week's GLOBE tabloid newspaper has a cover story about "25 Favorite Celebs: Where Are They Now?". The cool thing is that they actually had something nice to say about them, ha! Plus, they put a small color photo of Batman & Robin on the cover! This is in stores right now so if you want one be sure to act quickly.
Here every week at the Bat-Blog.com we post some unique BATMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds that are fun. We call the event, "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", ha! The 1st one is a wonderful graphic sent in by our friend Chris. It's a colored drawing of multiple Batman heads, very cool! His friend, Aaron Florian, created it. You can visit Aaron's website by clicking HERE! ( Sorry, I think you have to be a Tumblr Member to see everything ). The next wallpaper is pretty simple, but still looks great as a background. It's a photo of 2 very cool DC Direct Batman Action Figure Toys. The left one is a "Golden Age 1939" version ( or "Batman's First Appearance ). The right one is a more "Modern Day" version... awesome! I wanna thank Chris for thinking about the Bat-Blog & sending this wonderful artwork. Plus, as always, please let me know which Dark Knight Wallpaper you like the best!
I was recently surprised by a wonderful email from a Bat-Blog Fan named Marc. He lives in Germany & loves to collect "international Batman Comics". He sent us some photos from his comic book collection & they're a total joy to see. Basically, they're a few issues he has where he shows different variations from different countries. We get to see books in many foreign languages: German, English, French, Spanish, etc... The interesting thing is that sometimes they create whole new artwork for the cover. The "BATMAN: GOTHAM NOIR" Graphic Novel is the perfect example of that. I wanna thank Marc for taking the time to shoot these pics, I appreciate that. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have interesting things about their comic book or toy collections that you would like to share then please do. The main focus of the Bat-Blog is the joys of being a Bat-Fan & Collector.
Actor Gary Oldman (Commissioner Jim Gordon) chats to Adrian Hieatt from Absolute Radio about the upcoming Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises". Gary reveals everything he's allowed to say so far about the top-secret script, how Director Christopher Nolan manages to keep things secret, and working with Tom Hardy ( Bane, the Villain ).
Here's a totally cool photo from a Bat-Blog Fan named Jerry. Two months ago he went to Okinawa, Japan for vacation and, while there, saw this big Batman Statue in front of a local souvenir shop on Kokusai Street (also called "International Street"). I really love this picture but it also reminds me about the current tragic events in Japan. The Japanese People still need help. So, I gotta ask everyone, if they can, to please donate to the AMERICAN RED CROSS. Thank You. Oh yeah, before I forget, a special thanks also goes out to Jerry for sharing this fun pic, it's GREAT!!
Check out this really really great BATMAN TATTOO ART that features the Golden Age BATMAN Comic Book Logo! I have always loved this old vintage graphic so seeing it as a tattoo is a lot of fun. Plus, the Artist, Bill at the Tattoo Lounge in Los Angeles ( CA. ), did an amazing job on it. A Bat-Blog Fan named Drew sent us this photo, thanks Drew!
Batman: The Animated Series still ranks as one of my all-time favorite Batman cartoons. I mean, I love the new "Brave and the Bold", but nothing will ever beat the old 90's series. One cool thing about that TV show was the Art Deco Style Batmobile. Well, check out the video down below. Here is a Batman Fan, who I think is an Italian, showing his custom-made Batmobile car. Now it's not totally & completely perfect ( like he made it a "one-seater", not two ), but it is extremely nice. After watching the video click HERE to see some wonderful photos of this car.
YES! BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD IS BACK! The 1st new episode, "The Battle of the Superheroes!", airs TONIGHT, Friday, March 25th, at 6:30 PM on the Cartoon Network. here are a few scenes from the show which I have made into Desktop Wallpaper backgrounds. In this new episode the main guest is SUPERMAN and his friends, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen! The Villain Lex Luthor makes an appearance too, ha! Be sure to check out the video clip previews here at the Bat-Blog ( Look for the post below this one ).

Batman must find a way to turn Superman back to his old self because he is going to need all the help he can get when Lex Luthor unleashes his latest scheme on Metropolis. Now, the cool thing about this episode is that the Art Direction gives the characters a wonderful "Retro 1950's" look! Plus, it features Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, The Bottled City of Kandor, & much more!

Here's some wonderful artwork by our friend Limone Corteccia. The title of this piece of art is "LA JOKEROCONDA", which is sort of a play on words. You see, while most Americans know her as the "Mona Lisa", in other countries they call her "La Gioconda". Be sure to click HEREto enjoy more great art, thanks.
A Bat-Blog Fan named Jackie sent us this wonderful photo of a Batman Birthday Cake that her, her Husband and Mother created. Jackie's Mom runs a small side-business where she makes birthday cakes for people. One day she got a client who wanted a Batman-themed treat. So, they decided to make one featuring GOTHAM CITY WITH A LARGE BAT-SIGNAL. The completed cake is shown here & it turned out really great! It was for a little boy's 5th birthday & I know he will probably never forget it...it's very VERY cool! ( Thanks to Jackie for sending this fun pic ).
Check out this Educational "Batman History" Video created by WATCHMOJO. It covers the evolution of the Batmobile Car in the Comic Books, TV Shows, and Movies.
For today's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would get totally crazy & post some super-wacky backgrounds! The first shows the Villain BANE lifting Batman in the sky ( Is he gonna break his back again? ha! ) & then, if you feel like making your very own Batmobile Car, here are some blueprints. We hope you enjoy these. Also, if anybody makes a Batmobile in their garage, please send us some pics!
In this short Machinima Interview with Dax Ginn, Marketing Game Manager at Rocksteady, we get a little bit of fresh news about their next video game, Batman: Arkham City.
The amazing artwork you're enjoying right here was totally stolen from an Artist's website that I respect, ha! The Art Site is called MISTERHIPP and basically it's the visual diary of a cool Graphic Artist named Dan Hipp. He does a lot of work with Graphic Novels. His artwork has appeared in DC Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Tokyopop, and Del Rey Books. So, what do you think about his work? Pretty cool, huh!
Don't blink your eyes or you might miss this extremely short video clip, ha! It's a very rare TV Commercial announcing that the 1997 BATMAN AND ROBIN Movie will be on Video & DVD. Yes, VHS Tape!
Here's a quick little tip for all you Serious BATMAN Collectors out there! More than half of all Blockbuster Video stores are shutting down in late April (Yes! ) and they're blowing out all their DVD's and video games. But, most of these retail locations are ALSO selling their DVD Movie Shelf Cards for all their titles for only a NICKEL a piece!! (20/$1.00) These awesome shelf cards are made of durable plastic ( or laminated cardboard ) and they look really cool for display! Thanks to Bat-Dave for the 'heads up'!
Anybody who's been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile knows that our very best friend in the whole wide world is a cool kid named Desmond! I mean, this little guy is crazy for the Caped Crusader! Here he is modeling his new BATMAN Hoodie-Jacket his Mom found at K-Mart. It is a Fisher-Price DC Super Friends Batman print with little bats all over. It's ONLY MADE in children sizes which makes his Dad very very jealous, ha ha! But I have to admit that I'm a little envious too...because that IS one cool Batman Jacket! But I'm happy for Desmond because I know he is a major Batman Fan. He loves to watch every Batman show there is, from the campy 1966 TV Series to the new "Brave and The Bold" Cartoon. That's AWESOME! Thanks to his parents for sending these wonderful pics. I loved seeing the little guy again & I know that some of my readers are parents too & will enjoy this news.
Just a few days ago Warner Bros released their latest animated TV cartoon DVD, "Batman: The Brave And The Bold, Season One, Part Two". The special thing about this DVD is that it's a 2-Disc Set. The packaging is pretty cool & it contains 13 complete episodes. Now, there are not a lot of extras here but DISC ONE has a nice Movie Trailer for the next DC Universe Animated Film, "All-Star Superman". DISC TWO has a preview for the "Hot Wheels Battle Force 5" Animated TV Series. One last note would be that the shows are avaliable in three languages: English, Spanish, & Portuguese.
Now I gotta say that this is one GREAT series & a very nice DVD Set. I wish it was the Complete Season but it does have quite a bit of entertainment value. Plus, it's nice to watch the show without all the TV commercials, ha! Another thing I like is that it includes some of my most favorite episodes of Season One: "Trails of the Demon", because of the "Sherlock Holmes" angle. "The Color of Revenge", because of all the references to the Golden Age Comic Books & also the 1966 TV Show. "The Last Bat on Earth", because it showcased some Classic Jack Kirby-Inspired Characters & it brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. Actually the list could go on because every episode is fun! This set also includes the famous "Music Meister" episode, which was completely done as a Musical, a very strange ( but fun ) concept. I think that if you're a Fan of this TV Cartoon then you're gonna be pretty happy with this product. Now, just for fun, I have embedded some preview videos down below that are clips from a few episodes shown on this DVD, enjoy!
Episode Guide:
Mystery in Space ( The Question, Aquaman & Adam Strange )

According to an Exclusive story at Variety, Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt's will play Alberto Falcone, son of Mafia chieftain Carmine Falcone ( A.K.A. The Holiday Killer ), who Tom Wilkinson played in “Batman Begins,” insiders tell Variety's Jeff Sneider. The younger Falcone would bring Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” trilogy full-circle, and fits with the director's stated intentions for continuity and “realistic” villains. For the full-story, click HERE! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is scheduled to open July 20th, 2012.
