Video: Batman and Robin Movie Handheld Electronic Game TV Commercial

A really old TV commercial for the Batman and Robin Movie Handheld Electronic Game by Tiger. The quality isn't really the best but it does give us a good idea what the commercial was like. The design of the toy was pretty cool the way it was bat-logo shaped & one of the control sticks was a Batman figure.

Vintage Batman Toy : Foreign BATMOBILE CAR Made in Italy!

Here's a bat-treasure from Italy that shows both the Batman toy car & the original box. It's the "Italian-Version BATMOBILE" by the REEL Toy Company ©1980. It had lights that actually work & while it's not completely remote control, it does have a steering wheel knob on a handle with a cord that goes to the car. Both the box & toy have really great graphics all over them. I'm sure the following photos will totally torture all the Vintage Batman Toy collectors, enjoy!

Video: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Art Student Animation

This video was done by an art student who was totally inspired by Batman. It's based on the Frank Miller Batman from "The Dark Knight Returns" graphic novel. If you have read that classic book then you will recognize this moment. Overall the animation is pretty good & I like the minimal-style artwork too...a great piece!

BATMAN & ROBIN TATTOO Using Ron English Art

OK, I'm a huge fan of the paintings & artwork of an artist named Ron English. So, the other day when I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader who told me he saw a "Batman and Robin Kids" Tattoo I was pretty excited. The tattoo artist did such a great job that I added the image of the original painting for comparison, check it out! Oh yeah, if you would like to see more work by Ron English then be sure to scan his POPAGANDA website. Here's a link:

Cute Kid as Heath Ledger's JOKER from the Dark Knight Batman Movie!

"WHY SO SERIOUS?!" The other day I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Joey. He wrote, "My daughter Robin recently went to a party and there was a face painter. She had her share of girly face painting and she proved to be a FREAK! LIKE ME!". Ha Ha! Thanks Joey. Your daughter looks great with this very cool Joker make-up. I almost thought it was actually Heath Ledger for a second...ha ha, just kidding. But seriously, it's wonderful that such a great kid can be a HUGE Batman Fan like her father...that's awesome! Thank you for sharing this story & photo with my readers. I know they will get a really big kick out of it, it's very cool.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING From The BATMAN Family!

I wanna wish everybody ( in the USA anyway, ha ha ) a very Safe & HAPPY THANKSGIVING! To mark the occasion I "borrowed" a wonderful parody photoshop photo made by a friend nick-named "A. Pennyworth". He used a classic painting by Norman Rockwell. But his version features the cast from the 1966 Batman TV Show & is also an incredible piece of ART!

Desktop Wallpaper: Tim Burton's 1989 BATMAN Movie!

Every Bat-Blog Reader knows that every single Wednesday is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", ha ha! So, this week I thought I would post 2 Batman Desktop Backgrounds that have a "1989 Batman Movie" theme. Basically, it's the same exact photo of Michael Keaton as Batman in the Batcave ( I always thought his Bat-Computer was groovy ) but one is a full-shot & the other is a close-up...sort of 2 variations. I kinda picked this photo for a few reasons: One, This is the movie that totally hooked me into becoming extremely serious about being a Batman Toy Collector. Two, visually it looks pretty cool and Three, some friends & I were talking the other night about how amazing it is that next year ( 2009 ) will be the 20th Anniversary of that now-classic movie. Wow! Twenty years ago! ( That makes me feel kinda old now, ha ha! ).

MEGO Pocket Superheroes BAT-MACHINE BATMAN VEHICLE

Shown here is an amazing Vintage Batman Toy called BAT-MACHINE! It was a special vehicle made by the MEGO Toy Company in 1980 for their line of 3 1/4" Mego Pocket Superhero Action Figures. It was a fully computer-programmable vehicle a lot like the BIG TRAX toy made by Milton Bradley Electronics. OK, I can not even start to explain how extremely SUPER-RARE this baby is but in 20+ years of super-collecting I have never seen one in the box & the loose one I seen at a toy show many years ago was totally wasted, ha ha! This one is beautiful, with the original box, & is a total museum piece!

Costume Photos: BATMAN AND ROBIN CATCH THE PENGUIN!

Here's some really great photos that a Bat-Blog Reader named Blake wanted to share & I am glad he did! Last summer Blake & his friends decided to become their favorite superheroes ( and villain ). They dressed up like Batman, Robin, & the Penguin. Blake, thanks for sending us these wonderful pics. The costumes are great & the POW you added to a few of the photos really cracked me up...good job! I also like how they have a sequential order to them like reading a graphic novel, pretty funny! I wanna invite all other readers to send us your wacky Batman-related pics. There is always an e-mail button on the top right-hand side of this page.

Meeeeooowww! Here's something I came across on eBay & thought was pretty cool. It's a custom-made "Maquette" Art Sculpture of Catwoman in a sexy pose. It's modeled after the artwork of Bruce Timm's Batman: The Animated Series ( shown below ). The artist's name is Beverly Gilroy & she works for Hourglass studios. Purrrrfect!

BATMAN MEMORABILIA The Iris Art Collection From Germany

The Bat-Blog has a friend named Iris who lives in Germany & sometimes shares photos with us from her personal collection. This time she e-mailed us some really neat photos of some of the Batman Art she has on display at her house. The photo with the "Multiple Batman Figures" was colored by her daughter & some of her daughter's friends. She took them & framed them all together. I really love children's art so this picture is very cool & I gotta say that it's my favorite! The way Batman is in different colors & in multiples sort of reminds me of Andy Warhol's Pop Art, ha ha. Another photo shows some standees that she has in a hallway ( the one of Batgirl is my favorite! ). She explained that the artwork of The Riddler ( Jim Carrey ) is an actual piece of airbrushed art. Overall there's some really neat stuff here. Thank you Iris for sharing these personal photos, I appreciate that. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have photos like this to share then please do. Weird BATMAN MEMORABILIA From Russia!

OK, Hmmmm, this is kinda weird but here are 2 very strange Batman items from Russia. The 1st one is a famous "Bootleg Action Figure" of Batman, shown with original box! I have always thought the bootleg stuff was pretty funny but I don't really go out of my way to buy it. I've always thought every collector needs at least 1 item like this in their collection. Ya know, just for fun. There's some really great stuff made in Mexico that's very wacky! The 2nd photo is an original advertisement for the Canon IXUS 75 Digital Camera. It features a model who has more than one set of hands & he's making a Batman mask out of his fingers, yeah weird but it looks kinda cool. I can't read Russian but I think there's a silly caption up above his head, ha ha! Anyway, I thought some readers would enjoy this stuff because it's so obscure. For some reason you never see much Batman Memorabilia from the USSR...very cool!

BATMAN, THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD : The Official Warner Bros Animation Website

Warner Brothers Animation & the Cartoon Network have just released the new Official Website for their new animated TV series BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD! The page has a few FREE Flash Games to play, an interactive "Action Figure" area, & my favorite part of the site, a special "Behind The Scenes" Area where you can watch videos of the director, animators, artists, etc...talk about how they make the cartoon. If you watch the 1st one you get a good view of some of the many bat-vehicles that will eventually appear in the new TV show. Like, the Batmobile, Bat-Cycle, Bat-Jet, Bat-Boat, etc...They all look really great! They also have a cool retro-feel about them which I really enjoy. Overall the new website is very well-designed & features some awesome graphics. It also has a lot of interactive animation that is very neat. If you're a serious Batman Fan ( or just love the new cartoon ) then please be sure to check it out sometime. I've included a link button down below.

"The Adam West Experience" at the 2008 Red Bull Soap Box Derby

Every year the RED BULL Beverage Company has a famous Soap Box Derby Race event where people make their own cars & go totally crazy doing it! This year, 2008, it was in Cincinnati & I'm proud to say that there was a team called "The Adam West Experience" where some Bat-Fans made a replica of the "George Barris-Style" 1966 Batmobile Car! The 2 drivers even dressed up as Batman & Robin, ha ha! Here's a few pics of it & then a video where they sadly broke their car. Man, it would have been sweet if they won & we got to see the Batmobile cross the winning line...maybe next year!

THE DARK KNIGHT DVD & BLU-RAY Store Exclusives in the USA

OK, keeping up with the whole "DVD & Blu-Ray Store Exclusives" thing is a total nightmare! But here's some early reports I have got so far. Best Buy will be giving away a free "Movie Poster" with all pre-orders of THE DARK KNIGHT ( actually not a real movie poster but smaller ). This is kinda cheesy so look for a way better offer from them once it gets closer to December 9th ( the official release date for the DVD ). Another "exclusive" that looks a lot better is from Wal-Mart. Seriously, ha ha! Walmart will bundle the "Single-Disc DVD" with a TDK Comic Book & Two-Face Coin Replica. The last rumor I have heard is that FYE Stores will have the movie in 3 different Steelcases ( Graphics will be either Batman, Two-Face, or Joker ). I don't have a photo of them yet so if you live near a FYE store please send us one! Like I said, keeping up with all the store exclusive DVD sets is totally crazy so if you have ANY information to share then please let us know, thanks.

THE DARK KNIGHT DVD & BLU-RAY Batman Movie "Foreign" Store Exclusives

OK, in researching some of the "foreign" DVD & Blu-Ray Releases of THE DARK KNIGHT I have come across these two. The 1st one is the "German Edition" Blu-Ray Set & it comes with a Laser-Cut 3-D Display of the Bat-Pod Motorcycle. It also comes in a special display box. I imagine they will also sell a regular DVD set too but it might not have the extra gift. The 2nd one is from Canada. It's a "Special Two-Disc DVD Edition" & will come with the "Joker Goon - Bank Robber Mask" Statue. Something to keep in mind is that the Canadian one might work in US players but the German one will probably be "Region 2" so it might not. DVDs are sold in different formats for different countries. Region 1 is usually for the USA & Canada...you might check before buying one. This one has a special box also. If any other readers living outside the USA come across any special DVD sets then please let us know.

Cute Family Photo: MAX, The Boy Wonder!!

Last night I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader, named Stu, who had this incredibly sweet family photo to share. This is his son MAX as Robin, The Boy Wonder!! This is probably the most adorable photo I have EVER received! Stu explained it a lot better in his e-mail & wrote, "My name is Stu and I live in NJ. I am a huge Batman fan - one day I will have to send you pictures of my collection. I love your blog and I read it almost everyday! Today I would like to share with you, and your readers, a picture of my son Max. Although he was only 3 and a half weeks old on Halloween he INSISTED on wearing his Robin costume." Ha Ha, he "insisted to wear it", that's funny! Stu, please tell your wife that this little baby boy is extremely cute & precious. I seriously love this photo, it's totally priceless! Thank you so much for sending it. I know that my readers will feel the same way, he's such a cute boy. Plus, you're raising him up right with him being a Batman Fan so early!! That's very cool.

Halloween Costume Photos: The Joker, Poison Ivy, & Little Batman!

OK, ever since Halloween ended we have been flooded with tons of wonderful photos of Batman Fans from all over the world who dressed up in costume as their favorite Batman characters, that's AWESOME! Now here's a set of pics that is really great. Why? Well one reason would be that the costumes are very well done but the main thing is that Gary & his wife, Clara, introduced their 3 year old nephew into the world of Batman by actually making him...Batman! Gary dressed up as The Joker, Clara was Poison Ivy, & their cool nephew got to be "The Caped Crusader" himself! We all know that this will ALWAYS be a wonderful memory for the cute little kid, that's great. I bet everybody had a total blast! That is so cool! Thank you Gary for sharing these wonderful pictures & story. Please tell Clara she looks great in her costume ( good job ) & tell your nephew that his Batman Costume looks extremely awesome! I also think his Bat-Belt is pretty cool looking! As a side-note, to the readers of this blog, Gary runs a website about all thinks GEEKY! It's called "The Dork Knights". The Dark Knight JOKER Has Been Spotted in Ireland!

An avid reader of the Bat-Blog, named Kieran ( who lives in Ireland ), sent us these wonderful photos of his recent Halloween Costume of THE JOKER that he created. The attention to details are very accurate. One thing I noticed is that the blue shirt he's wearing has the exact "hexagon pattern" as the one worn by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight movie. The make-up is really nice too. Overall, a very well-executed job! Plus, as a treat, the last photo shows him with his friend "Two-Face". He's half Harvey Dent & half EVIL! This too is a really great costume. It looks like everybody had fun! Thank you Kieran for sharing these pics with us, I appreciate that!

BATMAN BACKGROUND WALLPAPERS Original Comic Book Art

This morning I thought I would post 2 Batman Desktops I recently made using original comic book artwork I found on the internet. The 1st one is from the Golden Age of comics. This illustration was done by Sheldon Moldoff. I really love his style & the simplicity of his lines, great stuff! The next wallpaper is a graphic by a more modern day artist named Dustin Nguyen. You might recognize his style from the recent issues of Detective Comics. This picture is wonderful because it's sort of cartoon-like ( which is not his regular style ) & because it features a ton of Batman Villains: The Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, The Penguin, Killer Croc, Scarface, Hush, Two-Face, Catwoman, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, Clayface, & many more!

OK, a Bat-Blog Reader sent me this photo the other day & it totally cracks me up! This is a "Homemade Bat-Pod" Motorcycle. It's just like the one used by Batman in The Dark Knight movie! Well, not exactly "just like it", because this one is made out of cardboard, bubble wrap ( tire tread ), black duct tape & LOVE, ha ha! The cool thing is that the Bat-Signal Headlight actually works. Come on, ya gotta love this thing, it's great ART!!

BATMAN : THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Premiers On Cartoon Network TONIGHT!

Just a friendly reminder that the brand-new animated TV series BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD hit's the airwaves tonight! Now, here at the Bat-Blog we have been flooded with e-mails from people asking, "What time does the show come on?" OK, Cartoon Network originally had it planned for 7:30pm & then changed it to 8:00pm but this morning I checked my TV provider's listings & they say 7:00pm. I know, it's all confusing. So, the best thing I can say is just get online or look on your Cable TV Listing channel to find out what time it will be on your local listings. The Cartoon Network is acting very strange with this so just check our local guide to be sure.

Video: BATMAN AND ROBIN... WORST MOVIE EVER!

For your viewing pleasure ( or torture ) is this fan-made montage showing just a few of the reasons that 1997's BATMAN AND ROBIN movie is one of the worst Batman films ever made, ha ha! Of course I'm talking about the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger, George Clooney, & Chris O 'Donnell. Now, the 2nd video is a small clip from an interview with Joel Schumacher & he actually apologizes for the movie being so bad. Seeing it actually makes me respect him a lot more. Yes, the movie is really bad but a few months ago, while on vacation, I saw this on TV one night & actually really enjoyed it. I mean, it's still awful but it made it kinda fun to watch.

THE DARK KNIGHT : DANIX COOKIES Batman Movie Promo in Brazil

Right now, over in Brazil, they have a promotion for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie with the DANIX Cookie Company. ( In Brazil they call the movie "O Cavaleiro Das Trevas" ). There are 2 different packages of cookies with beautiful graphics on them! They also have a special "Sticker Collector's Album" you can get & inside each package are a few stickers. There are 28 Batman Stickers to collect. My picture up above shows a small example of them. They feature a lot of the stock art showing the Tumbler Batmobile, The Joker, & other graphics from the movie. I know it's totally crazy but I would really love to have a few packages of these, ha ha! Collecting the weird "Batman food packaging" is a side-hobby of mine. Plus, they are "foreign" so I am totally goo-goo, ha ha! For more information just click on the button down below.

BATMAN COMIC BOOK LOGO DESIGN STUDY At Todd's Blog

I have been meaning to do a post for this topic for a very long time but totally forgot. Yes, sometimes I am a total moron, ha ha! There's a website called "Todd's Blog" where a guy named Todd Klein has done an extensive study of the Batman Logo over the years. He starts with the one seen in the VERY first Batman story, Detective Comics #27, & then he works his way up to modern day. Seeing the evolution of the logo is pretty interesting, from a historical point of view. Plus, if you love graphic art design, then it's pretty neat too. I've included a few examples but at his website there are many many more. In fact the posts are broken-up into "parts". I think there are 5 of them. If you use the "Search Box" at the top of his page you can find the rest. Just type "Logo Study Batman" in there, pretty easy. The amount of attention used in this story is what makes it really clever. Plus, there's a lot of beautiful eye-candy to enjoy! Just click on the link button down below, you'll see.

Photos: Kid in Batman Costume with George Barris 1966 Batmobile Pedal Car!

I was recently approached by a Bat-Blog Reader who wanted to send some pics but at the same time wanted to remain totally anonymous, I accept that. We always totally respect privacy here so that's cool. But WOW! He sent some super-amazing photos, seriously! Here are some pics of his son dressed up in his Batman costume. It's got the cape, cowl mask, & everything...very very cool! He even has a 1960's style Bat-a-Rang prop, that's awesome! But the best part about the photos, other than the cool kid, is the extremely incredible 1966 Batmobile Pedal Car! This is styled just like the car George Barris made for the 1960's Batman TV Show! When I was a little boy I would have killed for something like this, ha ha! I love the accurate paint job ( the red striping on black is very nice ) and the mag tires, exhaust shoots, bat-symbol door emblem, clear windshields, etc...are all GREAT! Thank you for sharing these private photos, I really appreciate that. The 1st one with him sitting in the car is now my favorite Batman photo!

Batman Scarecrow Halloween Costume is a HIT!

Last month, one of my friends over at MySpace sent me some pictures of his Scarecrow Costume he made. You might have remembered that post awhile back. Well, here's his costume at the party his family had & it looks like it was a total success! It also looks like they had Batman arrive with a mustache, pretty funny! The picture with the large group of people features his sister as The Joker & his cousin wearing an awesome Mad Hatter Costume. So, I'm guessing everybody there was a big Batman Fan too, that's cool!

Most Bat-Blog Readers know that we go totally crazy with the FREE Batman Desktop Wallpaper every Wednesday. So here we go! Because the Cartoon Network is gonna premiere the new Batman Animated TV Show this Friday ( November 14th, 8:00pm ) I thought I would use some of the promo art I received to make a few backgrounds. Now, please keep in mind that they have moved the show from 7:30pm to 8:00pm. You might check your local listings to be sure. For whatever reason they decided to shuffle a few things around. Anyways, I know a lot of readers here are gonna really love this show. From what I have seen it looks amazing...I can't wait! In fact, my family is planning a "Watch Party" where we're all be getting together to see it. My 2 small nephews will be there so it will be kinda neat to see how they like it. I mean, the show is directed towards little kids so their opinion will be interesting. Plus, we're ordering pizza so we can totally nerd out! I think it's gonna be fun!

Little Kid's BATMAN FLIK FLAK WATCH Child-Size

I have a friend who lives in Bulgaria & he told me that they got a new BATMAN WATCH at the store his Mother works at. I'm talking about a company called FLIK FLAK WATCHES. They are owned by the famous SWATCH WATCH Company & make very high-quality products. Well, this year they made a special Batman Child-Size Wristwatch & it's awesome...check out the pics! BATMAN ANIMALS Funny Humor Photos!

OK, I knew I had to put all these photos together because they sort of create a "theme" I like to call FUNNY BATMAN ANIMALS. The 1st photo cracks me up every time I see it! Looks like somebody dressed up their dog as Batman! I think these "Pet Costumes" are totally ridiculous but ya gotta admit they are kinda cute! The 2nd photo is very clever. Somebody make a "Custom My Little Pony" to look just like the "Heath Ledger Joker" from the Dark Knight Batman movie. The details are pretty good, especially the clothing. Hasbro should make one of these for real! The last photo is not a "custom toy", like the pony, but a real-life product you can buy for your Teddy Bear. There's a chain of stores in the US called "Build-A-Bear" where you go &, as a craft project, you stuff your very own teddy bear. They also sell outfits for your creations & one of them is the Batman Bat-Suit ( The Dark Knight version ). So, I hope somebody out there enjoys this wacky post! If you have any humor photos like this to share then please send them in today!

Original BATMAN Comic Book Art for Wizard Magazine Cover

Shown up above ( on the left side, duh ) is the original comic book artwork of Batman for the May 2005 Issue # 163 of Wizard Magazine. The artist's name is Mike Mayhew & he did a spectacular job! ( Be sure to click on the small graphic to revel a larger, more detailed photo ). It shows the Caped Crusader in a very angry mood with his hand slamming down on the Justice League of America conference table, even breaking it! But hey, he a super-billionaire & can afford to buy the JLA a new one, ha ha! I wanna invite ANY Bat-Blog Readers who own original art to send us some pics. There is always an e-mail button on the top right-hand side of this page.

The TWO-FACE VILLAIN is a Very Cool Batman Halloween Costume!

I opened my e-mail recently & was very surprised by the unique quality of this Bat-Blog Reader's Halloween costume! His name is Clark & this year he hit the streets as TWO-FACE!! Now, I kinda think this is more of the "classic comic book" version & not the recent Aaron Eckhart character from The Dark Knight movie. ( Clark, if you were trying to be him, I apologize, ha ha!). But either way I think this costume is amazing! I like how the suit, shirt, & even the tie are all in 2 parts. One side is elegant business, the other is kinda ugly...very well done. And the hair & make-up are really great too!! Thank you for sharing this picture with everybody here, I appreciate that. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have any Halloween photos ( past or present ) then please share them today. The Bat-Blog is all about sharing the love of these characters, even the villains, ha ha!

Video: Classic 1966 Batman Movie "Somedays You Just Can't Get Rid of a Bomb" Scene, in German.

As a wacky Batman Collector & Historian I totally love the "foreign aspects" of Batman. When the caped crusader is adapted by other countries I think that's so cool. Here's a really great example. This is the classic scene from the 1966 TV Batman movie where Batman ( Adam West ) is trying to get rid of a bomb. But the funny thing, is that the language is all in German. It makes the scene even more surreal!

BATMAN and THE JOKER More Halloween Costumes!

Man, it looks like this Halloween people went crazy over Batman! Here's 2 sets of photos sent in by some Bat-Blog Readers who dressed up this holiday. The 1st one is a very nice Batman Costume put together with different pieces. Some store bought, some homemade. But the overall effect is really great! The funny thing about this picture is that he took his photo in the mirror with the DARK KNIGHT Nokia Camera Phone...Now, that's staying in character! The 2nd group of pics is from a reader named Sean who, this year, went as the "NURSE JOKER". Of course it's the Heath Ledger TDK version where he dressed as a nurse to visit Two-Face. He admitted it's not totally authentic but who cares...it works! It looked like these people had a lot of fun this year, that's great! I wanna thank both of them for sending in these awesome photos to share. Thanks guys, I appreciate that. If any other readers had a similar experience then please send us proof!

BATMAN ARCHIVES TRADING CARD SET #4 Our Fourth ( & Final ) Bat-Blog Contest Winner!

This morning I was thinking I would pick the 4th ( & last ) winner for the BATMAN ARCHIVES Trading cards. Ya know, just to get it over with ( we have another contest going for Chip Kidd's brand-new book titled BAT-MANGA: THE SECRET HISTORY OF BATMAN IN JAPAN & it's kind of confusing having 2 contests at the same time ). So, I picked the fourth name out of the hat for the winning name. Of course I'm talking about where we have been giving away 4 sets of the new BATMAN ARCHIVES Trading Cards. There was gonna be 4 winners, one picked every few days. The GRAYSONS TV Show Cancelled By CW!!

OK, a month or two ago there was a BIG buzz about a new TV Show Series being created for the CW Network called "The Graysons". Basically it was gonna be like Smallville but would be about a young Dick Grayson & his family, before he became Robin, The Boy Wonder. Now the big news is that TV Series has been totally canceled & I could not be happier. This "TV show" sounded like the dumbest idea I ever heard. In fact, when the actual news came out that they were possibly gonna be doing this show, as a replacement for Smallville, I knew it wouldn't go through...because it's soooo stupid ( that's why I never reported it, ha ha ).

New Batman Merchandise Made By NECA To Look Out For!

The other day I was trolling the NECA Website for some new Batman products. Later this year they will release 2 new Batman Items that are not "Dark Knight" movie related but will feature vintage retro-style graphics. The 1st piece of merchandise uses the most retro-thing you can have... it's a large BATMAN GOLDEN AGE 1939 COMIC BOOK COVER Hanging Fabric Wall Scroll. Of course, it's the cover to Detective Comics #27 which we all know was the very first appearance of the caped crusader! It measures about 22" X 32", which is actually kinda BIG! I'm really liking this item & think it will be a "must have"! They also have a vintage ACTION COMICS / SUPERMAN cover too. The next photo shows us some neat SUPERHERO TIN BANKS they're gonna release & one of them is Batman! The other two are Superman & Wonder Woman. These too have retro-graphics because they sort of look like they have 1980's artwork. If anyone knows who the artist is for these please let me know. I think they look kinda like Dick Giordano's artwork. Anyway, here's some new stuff to keep an eye out for & if ANY Bat-Blog Readers hear about ANY brand-new Batman Merchandise then please shoot us an e-mail so we can share. This blog is all about connecting collectors with great information!

HARLEY QUINN : Batman Halloween Costume Photos

OK, It's after Halloween now & the Batman Costume Photos are flooding in, that's awesome! Here's a great example. Our friend Matthew sent us these wonderful pictures of his 2 daughters. One was a "Goth Rocker", which has nothing to do with Batman, but is a pretty cool costume, ha ha! ( Great make-up ). The 2nd costume though is HARLEY QUINN, the Joker's partner in crime from Batman: The Animated Series. Both the actual costume & face make-up are really well done. I love to see kid's all dressed-up like this. It always reminds me of my childhood & how much fun we used to have on Halloween. One year my cousin & went went trick-or-treating. Then, we rushed home & changed costumes to hit all the same houses again, ha ha! Man, we "cleaned up", ha ha! Good times, good times. Anyways, Thank You Matthew for sending us these great pics. Your daughters look really sweet & I bet they had a super-fun time. If any other readers have photos like this to share then please send them in. Our "e-mail Button" is always at the top right-hand side of this blog.

A Bat-Blog Reader named Nick sent us this really nice picture of his new JOKER TATTOO. Of course it's the amazing "Heath Ledger" version from the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. ( Man, people really really love that character! I have to admit, he does deserve the Oscar™ ). You might have remembered it from awhile back but now he has got some color work to it & it turned out really good. The tattoo artist ( sorry, I don't have his name at this time ) did a really great job! I like how "expressionistic" it is. Nick also dressed-up as The Joker for Halloween recently & sent us the 2 cool pics you see here. Nick, thank you for sending this material, I appreciate that. NEW BAT-BLOG CONTEST: An Autographed Signed-Copy of BATMANGA, THE SECRET HISTORY OF BATMAN IN JAPAN

OK, I know we have been kinda crazy with the contests lately but it's because we have received a lot of material from generous readers & there's some that I already had planned so they just all clashed together, ha ha! But, this contest is special & sort of connects to the release of a current book so I had to get it in now. Plus, I'm super-excited about it & couldn't wait any longer so HERE WE GO! The latest Bat-Blog Contest is for an Autographed Signed-Copy of Chip Kidd's new book titled BAT-MANGA, THE SECRET HISTORY OF BATMAN IN JAPAN ( Paperback Edition ). You might have read my book review on this a few days ago. To summarize, the book is incredibly AMAZING! Famous book designer & author Chip Kidd teamed up with Super-Collector Saul Ferris & Photographer Geoff Spear to create this wonderful "Batman Japanese History" book. Basically, it reprints a ton of totally lost material done by the Manga ( comic book ) Artist Jiro Kuwata during the 1966 Batman TV Show craze in Japan and, as a bonus, features a lot of beautiful Vintage 1960's Batman Toys made in Japan. The book is really great & we were lucky enough to get a few signed copies to give away as a contest! You read that right! There's more than one autographed book so your chances of winning are way better than those other crappy "Batman Fan" wannabe-websites, ha ha! The rules are pretty simple: Just e-mail us your FULL NAME / ADDRESS with the phrase "CHIP KIDD'S BAT-MANGA BOOK" in the title. Once we get enough entries we'll start pulling names out of a hat every few days. Like I said there's more than one copy so you'll have more chances to win but you can ONLY enter one time. All the names stay in the hat until all the books are gone & we will announce winners right here at this blog so stay tuned. Remember, your chances are better if you enter early so get busy & shoot us an e-mail... Good Luck!

CONTEST RULES:

  1. The contest is open to the general public as well as anyone currently reading the BAT-BLOG on a daily basis. Employees of the Bat-Blog and employees' immediate family members and persons with whom such employees are domiciled are excluded from this contest.
  2. The prize is not redeemable in cash and must be accepted as awarded.
  3. Decisions of the contest judges are final - no substitutions will be available.

  5. In accepting the prize, the winner, and any reader(s), acknowledges that the Bat-Blog may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize.

Golden Age Batman Art Painting By Bat-Blog Reader

Classic DC Comics Superhero Head Knockers By Neca - Batman!

Just a quick post: One of the websites I buy bat-stuff from featured a set of three "Classic DC Comics" Resin Head Knocker Nodders of Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman made by a toy company named NECA. They had the items "pre-listed" meaning they were not available to buy yet. Then, they never came out or were instantly sold-out. Now, they are offering another set of Head Knockers called "Classic DC Comics, Series 2". This set offers another Batman & Superman in more of an "action pose". Also, the other character they have this time is the Green Lantern. I missed the first set & didn't get to report on them because they were "not avaliable". So, I will be getting this Batman Bobblehead this time & I'll search eBay for the 1st one. The thing I like the best about these Bobble-Head Nodders, mainly the Batman Nodder, is he is dressed in the Classic Silver-Age-Style costume. It's blue & grey with the "yellow capsule" bat-belt & the "yellow oval" chest bat-symbol...awesome! Here's a link if you want to pre-order them too:
