Well, it looks like Warner Bros is going to release THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY Movie Set again but this time it will be the "Deluxe Collector's Edition". What makes it different? (Click on the photo up above for a larger, more sharp, picture of the contents)
The six-disc set will feature all three films with their existing extra content, two new featurettes and exclusive new collectible memorabilia including a Collector Book and three Hot Wheels Vehicles of the Tumbler Batmobile, The Bat-Pod, and The Flying BAT. This must-own collection will sell for around $99.95 and you can look for it around September 24th, 2013.

To my disappointment it still has the dark knight and the dark knight rises in variable format of 2.41 and 1.78 ratios. When I went to the theater to see them they were in full 2.41 format ratio throughout. I’m sure that they were great in IMAX theaters in variable format, but I didn’t have a chance to make it there. The non-Blu-ray versions are all in full widescreen format, but I wanted the Blu-ray versions the way I saw them in the theaters. I bought the dark knight Blu-ray without looking at its format and I did not buy the dark knight rises Blu-ray because of the format. It would seem with Blu-ray DVDs there would be enough space to put both versions of formats or at least have a choice of format selection in the setup. This collector's edition is just a repackaging of past DVDs with a bonus disc.
