I'm not sure if DC Collectibles came out with these figures to celebrate Frank Miller's Classic Graphic Novel or were they made to hype the release of the recent THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Animated Film DVD???
Either way, who cares! These are really cool & the gang’s all here in this special “The Dark Knight Returns” 4-Pack BOX SET featuring Action Figures of Batman, Robin ( Carrie Kelley! ), Superman, and The Joker!

These actually appear to be re-paints of the figures that were released in 2004 (see: http://www.toymania.com/news/messages/4415.shtml).
