Bat-Blog Book Review - BAT BAD GIRLS ( 1966 Batman TV Show ) by Renato D' Angelo
HEY KIDS! It's time once again for another BAT-BLOG Book Review! Yes, just recently we received an advance copy of a brand-new book published in Argentina ( written in English ). It's title is BAT BAD GIRLS and it's basically a "Pictorial Selection of Female Villains and Henchgirls from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show starring Adam West & Burt Ward. It was written by an extremely serious Batman Fan named Renato D' Angelo. We should also note that this book is so new that it is not listed on Amazon.Com yet, but it is available now at the Publisher's website, CLICK HERE.
OK, first off, this is a large-format Paperback Book measuring almost 8 1/2" X 11 3/4" with 36 pages. It has a bright-colored Matt-finish Cover ( shown up above ) that shows the claws of one of our favorite Female Villains, Catwoman! That image sets the premise for this book purrfectly because the main subjects of this book are the Actresses who played Villains or Hench-women on the Classic 60's TV Series.
This book is loaded with wonderful hard-to-find color pictures of Promotional Press Photos and scenes from the actual TV Show.
The List of Actresses/Villains includes:
Jill St. John as Molly, Myrna Fahey as Blaze, Donna Loren as Susie the Cheerleader, Anne Baxter as Zelda, Sherry Jackson as Pauline, Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Francie York as Lyndia Limpet, Nancy Kovack as Queenie, Susan Silo as Mousey, Julie Gregg as Finella, Linda Scott as Moth, Terry Moore as Venus, Lee Meriwether as The Catwoman ( Movie Version ), Kathy Kersh as Cornelia ( One of my personal favorites ), Tisha Sterling as Legs, Carolyn Jones as Marsha, Lesley Gore as Pussycat, Phyllis Douglas as Josie, Deanna Lund as Anna Gram, Sharyn Wynters as Eenie, Leslie Parrish as Glacia Glaze, Anne Baxter as Olga ( Yes, she was so popular she played 2 different Villains, ha! ), Lyn Peters as Lady Prudence, Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, and Joan Collins as The Siren.
Whew! That's a huge list! Now, my only gripe about the book is that it's only 36 pages. But, it does contain a ton of great photos that are really hard to find and also contains some obscure information... so that's cool. Plus, it's a total joy to look at. Seriously, this book brings back a lot of fond memories from my childhood.
