Video: Adam West & Burt Ward Screen Test for the 1966 Batman TV series
This is the screen test which ABC executives choose who they wanted to star as Batman and Robin, two were made. This one with Adam West and Burt Ward and the other with Lyle Waggoner & Peter Deyell. The Waggoner and Deyell couple seemed like favorites but after this screen test producers decided on Adam West and Burt Ward. The neat thing about this video is that they played the characters in a very serious tone. It's not like the TV show which was sort of campy. Oh yeah, Burt Ward's real name is Burton Gervis, ha ha ha!

Cool find. The reference to the murder of Wayne's parents was very interesting. I don't think that was ever acknowledged in the actual series.
I think West did a better job playing Wayne than he did Batman.
I wonder if Gervis chose his stage name because he was playing the part of Wayne's ward.
