I was eleven years old when this belt first came out. I saved my allowance for weeks. Then one day I went to the toy store, picked out the best one in the lot, and headed to the cash register. I paid $ 15.00 for that item - it was one of my most absolutely favorite toys. I played with it (and a Batman headmask and a Bat-cape my mom made me) for hours. ;?) My mom gave it away when I joined the service. (Groan!)
I bought one when I was 10 and thought it was so cool. I wore a Ben Cooper Batman outfit and my mom sewed a better cowl and cape. My friends and I would have a Batman adventure every Saturday. I had a batcycle (bike) and my dad's barn loft served as Wayne Manor. I had a Batpole which took me down to the Batcave (my dad's milking parlor). Yes, I was in the zone!!
