New BATMAN "Drive The Batmobile" Arcade Game Coming Soon!

Over at the ARCADE HEROES website they recently uncovered the news about a brand-new BATMAN Arcade Game that will be coming out soon. So, on your next visit to your favorite Pizza Parlor be sure to keep an eye out!

The game involves driving the Batmobile around Gotham City, taking out various villains in the process. Thus it is not a traditional, circuit racing game but something that appears to be more of an open-world, mission based design. Players can choose from numerous Batmobile vehicles, from the classic 1960s TV version to the Tumbler-style seen in the recent Dark Knight movies.It even includes THE BAT flying vehicle from the last movie. New BEWARE THE BATMAN “Sacrifice” Episode # 10 Preview Trailer Video Clips!

The next episode (# 10) of Warner Bros' BEWARE THE BATMAN is titled, “Sacrifice”, and it airs this Saturday, September 28th, 2013, on the Cartoon Network at 10:00am ET (9:00 Central, Please check your local listings).

THE BASIC PLOT:
Anarky returns once again to challenge Batman – but this time, his plan is far more deadly.  Stealing a valuable object from the League of Assassins, Anarky pins the blame on Batman.  At the same time, Anarky informs Batman that he knows where he can find the League.  Although he knows it’s a trap, Batman goes with Katana anyway.  As it turns out, Anarky has led both Batman, Katana, League leader Lady Shiva and her ninja assassins to a building that handles rare and deadly diseases.  Once inside, Anarky releases one of the airborne viruses in the building.  Now Batman and the others have to find a way to escape before being killed.  One more thing:  if the virus gets out…Gotham is doomed!

Just a quick post to share a photo I took yesterday while visiting my local Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The reason I was there was to see "Weird Al" Yankovic at his latest book signing event. Then, while waiting in line... I saw these new BATMAN books on a bargain sales table, POW! They're only 6 bucks! Hey, in hindsight, I should have bought a few, DOH!

New BATMAN BAT-POD JOKER 2013 Hallmark Christmas Ornaments

People who love Batman ( and Hallmark Christmas Ornament Collectors ) should be happy this year! For the 2013 Holiday Season Hallmark Stores are offering 3 different Batman-themed Ornaments. 

The first one we're talking about is the 2013 Batman Bat-Pod Motorcycle from "The Dark Knight Rises" movie. It's a special Hallmark Gold Crown Exclusive that will be limited to the "Ornament Debut Weekend" ( October 5th and 6th ) while supplies last. Only available at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores. Size: 4 1/2".  Also, sorry about the crappy photo, ha ha, but this item has not been released yet and this is the best pic I could find.

Then, don't freak out, there will be 2 more "Batman" 2013 Hallmark Christmas Keepsake Ornaments! One is called "Descending Upon Gotham City" and it's a re-issued ornament of Batman as a full-body figure ( The only difference from the previous version is that it's a different color and it's more in tune with the vintage comic books ). 

Then, there will be a "Talking Ornament" of THE JOKER ( Heath Ledger version from THE DARK KNIGHT). The cool thing is that you press a button and the Joker says some fun catch-phrases from the film.

The Fire Department in Roselle, NJ are True Batman-Inspired Heroes!

We have all seen the recent news coverage lately on CNN and other TV News programs about the fire, it happened last Thursday, that blazed it's way along the boardwalks of Seaside Park and Seaside Heights, N.J., and damaged nearly two dozen businesses. It all started at a frozen custard shop and then spread out from there. Much of the iconic boardwalk, that was recently rebuilt after Superstorm Sandy, was destroyed.

One bit of good news is that our friend Jeff,  who works for the Roselle, New Jersey Fire Department ( Battalion 4, D Platoon ) was there to help. That group has "Batman" as their mascot so, in a strange way, "the Dark Knight" was there to help!!

Our hearts go out to the business owners and families affected by this tragedy. We would like to ask people, if you can, to please donate to the American Red Cross. Yes, you too can help make a difference and every little bit helps a bunch, just please CLICK HERE!

Jerry's BAT-BIKE with BATMAN Autograph Collection

Hey, long time Bat-Blog Readers will remember this guy. We featured this Bat-Bike awhile back but Jerry sent us this new photo with some wonderful news. He's been going to a lot of Comic Con events scoring up brand-new autographs for his bike. You see, if he meets someone who is associated with the BATMAN TV Series then he gets them to sign his Bat-Bike!

So far Jerry has collected 12 signatures. Daniel's BATMAN DONUT CAKE - it's Birthday Party Time!

Check this out. We wanna share this ultra-fun photo a friend of ours sent to us the other day. His name is Daniel and he lives in Germany. The cool thing is that he recently had a birthday and his wife made him this really great Batman Birthday Cake. OK, it's actually a bunch of doughnuts and NOT a "cake"... but you get the idea! Canadian Batman News - Paul Meets The Comic Book Artist Neal Adams!!

Here's a fun photo we knew we had to share and we also know that many Batman Fans will totally love it! This is our good friend Paul from Canada who, just recently, went to the 2013 Montreal Comic Con and met, none other than, the legendary Batman Comic Book Artist... Neal Adams! 

Paul said he was a very cool guy, really nice. Hey, I have heard that same thing from everyone who has met him, ha! That's awesome!

Arturo's CAPTAIN LEATHERWING BATMAN Costume Photos From Mexico!

This post comes from a set of photos sent to us all the way from Mexico. There, we have a Bat-Blog Fan named Arturo who wanted to share with us some really fun photos of the Batman costume he wore for an office party. But this is not the normal Batman we're all used to seeing, this is "Captain Leatherwing".

Now, for the few people who are not familiar with this unusual variation on the Batman character this "Captain Leatherwing" guy appeared in a DC Comics' Elseworlds story from 1994. To be more specific, he appeared in Detective Comics Annual #7 and was written by Chuck Dixon, art by Enrique Alcatena. The basic premise of Elseworlds stories is that the superheroes (characters) are removed from the mainstream continuity and put into a different context. In this case, Batman is an English Pirate Captain, set in a whole different time period. The story is a classic.

Anyways, this is a great choice for some cosplay and his costume is both extremely fun and well-designed.  (Thank you for sharing Arturo!)

This was taken during the Halloween festival at the school where I work. I'm an English language Teacher in Mexico.

THE BASIC PLOT:
Desperate to gain access to the Ion Cortex after the kidnapping failure of Jason Burr, the League of Assassins instead send one of their specialized members to steal the information from Burr’s mind.  Half human and half computer upgrade, the assassin Cypher breaks into Jason’s lab and takes over his mind.  Batman and Katana try to stop him, but Katana inadvertently allows herself to be captured when she sees Jason being harmed.  Now controlling both Jason and Katana, Cypher escapes with Batman in pursuit.  Now, Batman must not only face Cypher, but his well-trained protégé Katana!

(Also, as I post this, it's September 19th which is Adam West's birthday and what a great way to celebrate).

This Classic TV Series was my personal favorite as a little kid and it's also what really got me into the characters, the comic books, and eventually, collecting the toys.

Now, in 2013 (yes, 47 years later, ha ha ), HOT TOYS has plans to release a Set of Batman and Robin Figures and then, a little bit later in the year, a huge 1966 Batmobile vehicle that is HUGE enough for these large dolls.

The crime-fighting hero of Gotham City is rarely seen without his faithful sidekick – Robin in the Batman 1960s television series. The campy and lighthearted TV show has become very popular with fans and a movie was made between the first and second season of the TV series.

Hot Toys is delighted to introduce the 1/6th scale Robin Collectible Figure from the classic 1966 Batman movie. The collectible figure is newly developed and highly detailed which is specially crafted based on the image of the Actor Burt Ward as Robin, the Boy Wonder!
