Dave's VINTAGE BATMAN TOY & MEMORABILIA Collection!

Check out these great photos from a Bat-Blog Reader named Dave who wanted to share some of his Batman Toy & Memorabilia with us. He has a really nice collection going here ( Please click the small pics up above to see larger, more detailed, photos ). I like how it's displayed & I also love all the vintage stuff. It's neat that he blends a lot of new pieces with the older items. I sort of crack-up a little bit every time I see that Official "Batman Television". I have the DVD Player ( love the design ) but never bought the TV. It's a really cool item that I'm gonna try to find someday! My favorite piece has got to be the Mego JOKER VAN, that thing is RARE! Plus, I guess for sentimental reasons, I had it as a little kid. I also like the "Batman Executive Set", 60's Soaky Bottle, Action Figures, Ideal Helmet, the Die-Cast Corgi Batmobiles, the "Carmine Infantino" Statue, Autographed Photos, the Vintage Halloween Costumes & Masks, the 1966 Coloring Books...the list could go on & on, all GREAT stuff! Thank you to Dave for sending the wonderful pics, I appreciate that a lot. If any other Bat-Fans out there would like to share pics of their collections then that would be great! Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Video: Japanese Antique Vintage 1970's ALPS Batman and Robin BATMOBILE TIN TOY CAR Battery Operated

Here's a pretty cool video that was featured on an eBay posting ( I always think that's a really great idea to do that ). It's a Japanese ( Vintage 1970's ) ALPS Batman and Robin BATMOBILE TIN TOY that is one of those fun Battery Operated Cars! Now, this is a bootleg toy ( not licensed ) but still, it's a lot of fun & very very RARE! Plus, it's really neat to see it in action, ha!

BATMAN IIX - Vintage Movie Poster Parody!

Shown here is a beautiful graphic created by our good friend Sean Hartter. It's a fake Vintage Movie Poster / Lobby Card featuring Donald Pleasence as Mr. Freeze! Oh man, he would have been great in that role. I always loved seeing him in movies. He was the perfect character actor, very creepy! I know you guys have seen him, just do a Google Search sometime & you'll say, "Oh yeah, that guy!" It's also funny to note, that in this total fantasy film, Batman would have been played by Burt Reynolds, ha ha ha! I really wish they would have made this movie : ) Thanks to Sean for sharing his fun artwork.

Vintage 1960's OFFICIAL BATMAN TV SHOW Character Rings - Gumball Vending Machine Header Cards

The real main focus of the Bat-Blog is to share the love of collecting all the cool Batman Toys, especially the Vintage Memorabilia! Here are a few examples of some Gumball Machine Header Cards featuring OFFICIAL BATMAN Character Rings. They were made by the Lawson Novelty Company in 1966. It looks like these rings were made out of rubber & there were 4 to collect. Two of them are sort of a Bust of Batman and Robin. The other two look like a Batmobile Car & Bat-Symbol Logo...awesome! These cards were what you would have seen inside the Gumball Machine to advertise the prize you could get. I don't remember seeing these as a little kid but I know I would have gone totally batty wanting one, ha ha! In fact, I would totally love to have these now! ( Thanks to Jimmy for sending the cool pics ).

VINTAGE BATMAN TOY - The 1966 HOT LINE BATPHONE By MARX

Here are some really great pics I thought I would share today. You know, to totally torture you, ha ha! This is an extremely cool vintage 1960's toy that I bet some of you might have had this when you were a small child. This is the BATMAN HOT LINE BATPHONE!! It came out during the craze of the 1966 Batman TV Show & kids at that time totally loved it! It was made by the Classic Toy Company, LOUIS MARX & CO. It's a battery-operated device where, when you press a button, it would say 10 different sayings or phrases - stuff like, "We can never let the people down!, This is our kind of fight!, Depart in haste - Boy Wonder!, They'll never remove the bat mask!, Go thaw Mr. Freeze!, & (my favorite) Go ZAP those greasy criminals!" I wonder if there's a YouTube video of the TV Commercial ( if they made a TV ad ) or maybe somebody created a MP3 of the sounds, who knows? It would be great to hear them again. By the way, these pics were sent to me by a friend to totally torture me. You see, he knows that I don't have this thing & I really want one. Thanks Jim, you made me cry. I hope you're happy now, ha ha!

Well, our friend John sent us some amazing pics of his collection the other day & because I have been so busy lately I have not been able to get them up here, until now! So, here they are. This is an extremely cool Batman Toy Collection! John's main focus seems to be on the 1966 Batman TV Series & it looks like he really likes Vintage Model Kits too. Drooling over these pictures I found a ton of neat Batman items I know many readers will enjoy seeing ( Be sure to click on the pictures here for larger photos ). Thanks John for taking the time to shoot the photos, they're great! Also, you have some really cool memorabilia here. I want to take a moment to ask ALL Bat-Blog Fans to send us your photos too. VINTAGE BATMAN TOY COLLECTION PHOTOS: Magazine Article From Japan!

In the year 2000 ( I love the sound of that, it's like a movie trailer voice-over for an old sci-fi film, ha ha! ) a company in Japan published a magazine that featured the collection of a Major Batman Toy Collector. The cool thing was that it was a total mix-up of many vintage items & then a few more "modern day" pieces. It's just a great reference guide for many extremely RARE Japanese Toys from the 60's & even some cool stuff from the Warner Bros Store, mostly Batman: The Animated Series. When I look at it I see a lot of toys I have, a few things I know about & want, and then even some items that I have never EVER seen before...a great variety! Be sure to click on the photos here for larger versions where you can see all the great Batman Memorabilia in better detail. I swear, you will be drooling for days!!

Ernest's Cool BATMAN LOGO & BATMOBILE Toy Collection!

OK, I have said it a million times & I totally mean it, I love to see other people's Batman Toy Collections! It's always a game of "I got that, I want that, where did he get that?", ha ha! Here are some pics sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Fan named Ernest. He says that his main focus are the Batmobile Cars & just about anything with the famous "Yellow Oval" Batman Symbol Logo. I gotta say that there are some very cool items here! Of course it's almost impossible to pick out a favorite item here because everything is so awesome but I have to say that I really love the HUGE Remote Control Batmobile Car! I remember when it came out & I couldn't afford it at the time. But, someday, IT WILL BE MINE! Another neat thing to mention are the 2 Custom Driving-Light Covers that Ernest made. They are those 2 "Flat Yellow Circles" with Bat-Symbols cut-out of them that you can see in the bottom-center of the very last photo. They were made to fit the large Driving Lights on the front of his truck! These must look pretty cool all lit-up. Ernest, ya gotta send us a photo of that! In the mean time, I wanna thank you for taking the time to shoot all these great pics. Plus, you have the start of an amazing Batman Collection, keep it up! I want to invite ALL Bat-Blog Readers to send us photos of your collection...show us what you got!

Great Vintage Toy: The Official 1966 BATMAN HELMET & CAPE By Ideal!

I know we have featured this Classic 60's Batman Toy here before but this one is special because it's a recent find of a Bat-Blog Fan who got lucky at an Antique & Collectibles Store. It's the Official 1966 BATMAN HELMET & CAPE made by Ideal! He told us he found this thing at a shop for $25.00! The box isn't totally perfect but still pretty nice for display. The neat thing about it was that it came complete with both the helmet & cape in great shape! Plus, did I say 25 bucks! ( Thanks for sharing the pics ). I want to invite all Bat-Blog Readers to send us photos of your cool finds. They can be Older Vintage Items like this or something you just bought at the store tonight. Remember: Sharing the love of collecting Batman Toys is the main function of the crazy Bat-Blog!

Vintage BATMAN MEMORBILIA & TOYS From Around The World!

I know that the Bat-Blog has kinda been crazy with the Halloween Holiday lately & we have been neglecting the toy collector aspect of the blog. So, here's a post to make up for it, ha ha! Here's a really nice example of a few pieces of Bat-Memorabilia made in different parts of the world. The 1st example comes from the United Kingdom ( England ) & is the Original Bubble Gum Wax Wrapper for a Set of 1966 Batman Trading Cards. Oh man, I am totally crazy over those vintage-style graphics...awesome! The next item might appear to be French but it's not from France. This is a Batman Board Game from Canada! It was made by Hasbro in 1973. OK, the last 3 pictures are a Set of Japanese Batman Canvas Sneakers. These shoes, of course, are from Japan & came out around 1966. The original shoe box is shown here with the product & it's equally as cool! Again, the graphics are just totally beautiful. Do you live outside the USA? If so then please send us some photos of some fun "Foreign Batman" items you might have. Sharing the love of Batman Toy Collecting is one of the main functions of this fan site. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page, thanks.

New BATMAN, ROBIN, & JOKER T-Shirts To Keep An Eye Out For!

I'm always trying to keep up with Batman T-Shirts Designs & when I come across some that I think are pretty cool I like to share them. Here are 3 new ones that I think are very well done. Now the 1st one is my favorite because it's a graphic of what the original 1966 TOPPS BATMAN Bubble Gum Card Package ( Wax Wrapper ) looked like. That real-life piece of Bat-memorabilia has always been very special to me because I really loved these Trading Cards as a very little kid! The next one has more of a "Pop Art" feel about it & I'm actually trying to figure out who's comic book art they used. I'm thinking it might be the artist Dick Giordano but I'm not sure. Either way, it's the "Silver Age" Batman that I have always liked with the blue / gray bat-suit & yellow-oval bat-symbol logo. For the last example I included this one with split-faces of Batman & The Joker. The reason is because it totally reminds me of all the T-Shirts that were produced during the 1989 Batman Movie craze. It just has a nice "Vintage 80's Look" about it. Now remember, I've included a link button down below so you can see other examples of new shirts offered. So, check it out!!

Bloomingdale's DC COMICS 75th Anniversary T-Shirts ( Batman & Joker )

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of DC Comics Bloomingdale's Department Store is selling some cool Batman & Joker themed T-Shirts. The Vintage Style "Japanese Batman" ( in the 1st photo ) is my personal favorite & I really like the one that looks like a cover to an old Golden Age "Detective Comics" Comic Book. The prices range from $39.00 to around $60, OUCH!

BATMAN & JOKER Halloween Costume Photos!!

The Bat-Blog has been going crazy goo goo over Halloween this year & many readers have been completely wonderful about sending us pictures of themselves wearing Batman-themed costumes ( Thanks! ). Here's a great example of something from the past & more modern-day. The 1st picture was sent in by our good friend Ian, who lives in Canada. It's an older vintage photo ( about 1966 or 67 ) showing him on his parent's porch & he's BATMAN! I'm not sure who his friend is but they were stuck being YOGI THE BEAR! Now, they both look totally ready to go hit the neighborhood because they not only have their Plastic Pumpkins to fill with candy but they ALSO have some super-giant shopping bags! Now that's total ambition there, ha ha! I remember one year my cousin & I each used a large over-sized pillowcase...we raked it in! The 2nd photo is a lot more recent, & sort of "not Halloween-related", but it does show a GREAT Joker Costume! This is a good friend of the Bat-Blog named Paul. He's totally into creating Batman Costumes & this is one of my favorites. The great thing about this pic, other than the Joker Costume being totally great, is the fact that he took it in front of the real-life Presidential WHITE HOUSE, ha ha ha! I wonder if the Secret Service brought their warning level up a notch? That's hilarious! I wanna thank Ian for sharing his wonderful family photo. I also wanna thank Paul for allowing me to post a photo I totally stole from his MySpace page, ha ha! Happy Halloween Everybody!

Vintage 1989 BATMAN AND ROBIN Halloween Costume Photos!

I gotta say that this year Bat-Blog Fans have been totally wonderful about sending us their "Batman Halloween Costume" photos! It's great & I really appreciate it. Some have been about what they're gonna look like this year & others are from the past. I like both a lot but I have to say that I really love the vintage photos the best! I guess because they seem to bring back such fond memories. Anyway, here is our buddy Jason & his Brother Daryl. The year was 1989 & they were totally swept-up in the Batman movie ( Michael Keaton ) craze! Jason was the Dark Knight & Daryl was Robin, The Boy Wonder!! I wanna thank Jason for sending these because they're so awesome! Not just the photos, but the costumes too...very cool!

Halloween Costume Memories: DAVE IS BATMAN!

OK, as promised here are the wonderful photos of our buddy Dave dressed a s Batman! In earlier posts we shared some pics of him in various Halloween Costumes he has worn over the years. There have been costumes of The JOKER, both "Vintage Comic Book" & "Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight movie" versions. Plus he has been Robin, The Boy Wonder! Well, here's a nice collection of Batman costume photos! In the 1st photo it looks like he wore his costume to the office one day. So, I guess, his cubile on that day was called the "Batcave", ha ha! In another pic, from around 1989, he is with a very pretty girl who was dressed-up as Catwoman ( ya gotta love that ) & in another he is shown with his "Batmobile Car". Actually it's a black Hyundai with cardboard tail-fins, ha ha! ( I totally love the creativity of that ). Before I forget, I wanna thank Dave for all the great photos he has sent us. They have all been really great & I really appreciate that. I also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Fans to send in their Halloween memories, thank you.
